I hope not but it's possible. Apparently low back chronic pain that he needed to fix. He's one tough bastard though. He played for a long time with a steel plate in his neck.
Wow. I was unaware he played with a steel plate in his neck..He must be the bionic man.

Roger lost to Haas in Halle 2012 too
very old Tommy is a bad match up for Mr Vavrinec, especially in Germany in front of his crowd, not a real surprise for me

Haas falls to Mischa in QF. Grigor falls even earlier than that to JJ (remember him).

What assessment do you make of his form? Does he look good?

I see you are wondering about him.
Are you familiar with Twitch streaming? Google it, I won't spoil the fun for you.
In case you can't be bothered to even do that, it is as Front said, injuries have derailed him one too many times in his career, but the guy is basically a part time player.
His account on Twitch allows him to stream his gameplays live. Basically, he is wasting his life. I always liked him, he is a huge talent, but like many of them, crazy. His career has gone down the drain pretty much after his good run at Wimby in 2013. He mostly plays challengers these days.

I have seen him play counterstrike and DOTA actually... And I don't play PoE unfortunately, I am not big on games in general, I study computer science, games are about the last thing I use the computer for. :D
All jokes aside, and people are completely unaware of this, but most guys who even struggle in challengers have other jobs. Part time players if you will. It just doesn't bring in the $$ for a good coach, physio, plane tickets etc etc. You have to fight for it like crazy.

Haha the PoE devs are hardcore gamers :D That's why the game is so insanely complex, it's soooooo big and they're now filthy rich....

Yeah i know it's hard..... a guy on mtf who played a challenger or 2 worked as a pizza boy.... but he was kinda old to begin with, his serve was horrible, like he tossed the ball so much to the side it was ridiculous, i think he beat 1 guy in a challenger and that was his best result.... He was always complaining he didn't get support from the family.... and the gyms were closed when he finished work and stuff, well surely it's hard like that...

and it's damn hard to make a living as a gamer unless you're Mathil from PoE........

k i made a gif of the guy's ball toss, it's horrible :lulz1::laugh::lol3:

Oh goodness...
I always like to see a fellow MTF member. The humour there is just ridiculous. Some excellent posters. It is a bit of a mess with all the trolls, but, unfortunately for my spare time, I never get bored of it. Are you familiar with pepita1964 and her posts on MTF? Hahahahahaha :D
When I am feeling down, I can read her posts and only imagine how much such a person would struggle in life, and be thankful that it isn't me.

Thiem, Zverev and Nishi are playing in Halle. It's going to be a good win for Roger if he wins it.

It's a bit of a cause for concern if he doesn't. With all due respect to those three they haven't shown anything on grass yet and of them I'd say only Zverev could make a decent run at this Wimbledon.

Even if Roger flamed out without a title in Halle I still think he can flip the switch at Wimbledon. He wants it more than anything and it's past time he stops all the underachieving there and takes home the title.

Roger has won Wimbledon after winning Halle and also after flaming out in Halle. So, folks cannot use what happens in Halle to predict what will happen in Wimbledon.

However, there is kind of pressure on Roger to win this due to his skipping of the entire clay season and that may act against him.
With Novak out of form, Rafa losing to guys outside 100 for several years , Raonic nursing some kind of injury and JMDP having injury issues etc there are really no serious challengers except for Andy (to whom Fed usually feeds carbs). If Fed is taken out, it will probably be by an youngster like Sasha or Nick.

Yes if Fed reaches the semis or finals and loses it'd be disappointing but he'd have gotten decent match practice. The worry is if he gets upset early and goes to Wimbledon having played all of 2 or 3 matches since Miami. Regardless he is obviously a serious contender no matter what happens at Halle but it'd be nice to go into Wimbledon looking strong.

I agree that it doesn't much matter how Halle goes for Roger, in that he will still be a top favorite/the top favorite for Wimby. An early exit would make him vulnerable in the early rounds, though, as he'd probably not be so confident, and not have quite enough matches under his belt. Then you would just hope he doesn't get a dangerous floater early. That said, he doesn't usually lack for confidence and optimism, so at worst, it might just be a harder slog though a few rounds before he gets his feet back on the grass at SW19.

SFs tomorrow:

Mischa Zverev v. Feliciano Lopez
Lucas Pouille v. Benoit Paire

Fans of the old S&V should tune in for Zverev v. Lopez (not before 13:45 local time)

I know you've rather mentioned, but why do you dislike Pouille and Paire so much? Personally, I'd also be happy to see either Lopez or Zverev with the tophy in the end.
