Seems like it is one of those Stan days. Didn't think he would/should lose the semi last year and definitely didn't think he would today either.
He's a moody player for sure. Really didn't get up on the right side of the bed. He had the break in each set. This should be over in straights.

I always thought that the BEST version of Murray is when he is playing aggressive AND playing aggressive defense at the same time! What is so ironic about my statement is that he does on his worst surface!

On grass, he is aggressive and plays aggressive defense but most of the time he just use his variety and slicing ability to throw his opponent off (and it perfectly works).

On hard courts, sometimes he is not aggressive at all!

In my opinion, the reason he has gotten better on Clay is because he finally realized he could be both aggressive and play great defense at the same time on this surface.

And that is why right now he is ahead of Wawrinka in this match. He is playing great defense to make Wawrinka hit an extra shot AND he is aggressive enough to make Wawrinka move around the court.

Some great points. He really is a wall. Probably the least penetrable wall I've seen on the men's side in a long time.

And what is so interesting about it, kstate, is that Murray is doing all of these on his worst surface and Stan's best surface!

Stan is more of a front runner who likes/needs to blast through the elite players in quick fashion. I have to favor Murray here in a 5th, for all the grief he gets for being a basketcase he is quite strong in 5th's normally.

Stan gets the break. Might be one or two more twists in the tale on this one though.

Good quality entertaining match.

Seems like Wawrinka is about to win the match for this years runner-up Trophy.
