right. Gotta go mind the little guy upstairs while the wife goes shopping. Great play by Nadal in fairness. Interesting to see if he makes the 2nd week of Wimbledon this year

I think Nadal's backhand was spectacular, probably higher than his 2008 level and he serves better. But return, forehand and most importantly, movement, 2008 by far. Plus he played Djokovic and Roger in 2008. Not Thiem and Stan

I remember all these years many used to ask if Nadal would trade a RG trophy for another slam on a different surface. At this point, I don't think he would, at all.

yeah the backhand was crazy. i'd heard that he's been hitting it well lately but haven't watched one of his matches in a while

How about this stat: Of his 21 sets, in only three of them did he lose 4 games, never 5. Congrats to Paire, Haase, and Thiem for managing for games in a set against him. LOL.

Nadal now the second highest in slams. Wimbledon will not be bad for him at least. He might do very well if he stays confident. My boy Roger better be careful.

It's funny. We'd be looking at history a lot different if, like the old days, more majors were played on clay. Imagine if there were two clay majors a year :D
