Yesterday, the William sisters and Fed won. At the end of the day, I was thinking as to what would happen if Fed plays them. If Fed plays either one of them alone in singles, the answer is trivial. Fed would win, as there is a huge chasm between ATP and WTA worlds.

But, what would happen if Fed is on side (without alleys) and faces the William sisters (both of them and the alleys included in their side of court). That would be an interesting match. May be an idea for a future exhibition match.

awful final, the worst possible for me, I dislike those ball bashers sisters from the deep of my heart, it's not my kind of tennis at all, I pity Australian crowd

Serena and Venus aren't ball smashers but very talented shot makers.. especially Serena who added so much variety (slice, drop shot, volleying at the net although she isn't quite were she needs to be.) to her game the past 5-7 years.. Isabelle, there's no way Serena could have won as many grandslam titles after age 30 if she was just a ball basher like Sharapova.

I don't know why you're trying to reason with her. This has nothing to do w/ style of play. For whatever reason she doesn't like them (which is her right, but at least be honest about it. Don't come here w/ this crap about ball bashers and then root for Coco, Garbine and Kvitova who are some of the most inconsistent bashers on the planet) and roots against them no matter who their opponent is.

I love Henin, Hingis, Schiavone, it has to do with style...and Kvitova is everything but a ball basher !!!
you've the right to love the sisters I have the right to dislike them OK ??

Your disdain for the Williams sisters is of no consequence. And your right to harbor wilful ignorance is not in dispute. The depth of dishonesty you devolved to is eye opening.

Freedom summed it up perfectly, but let me make it plain so you'll understand.

I said you have the right to dislike them. I was calling you out on your dishonesty. You can't say you don't like them for being ball bashers but then turn around and root for other bashers and not expect some backlash. If you don't like them, fine. You could just say you don't like a player and not have to offer up a reason, but you did. So don't be surprised if someone calls you out on your posts. Afterfall, this is a message board.

Navratilova is still the best female tennis player I've watched but 23 is impressive all the same.

Great that she finally can relax now that she has the record. Now Serena is playing with "house money" because every title Serena is able to win after this one will be gravy.

not even watching. Pile of crud tbh.

I didn't see it and saw the brief highlights on ESPN. Too bad it wasn't an "epic" final.

Congrats to Serena! Swing freely! I would like to see her with another French, but not sure that one is possible. I know Wimbledon and the US Open are more likely spots. She might find more pep in her step with her favorite whipping girl returning this spring.

Also, I hope Venus keeps form and can perhaps surprise at Wimbledon. I'll trade Serena surprising and winning in Paris for Venus winning in London.
