I think Kerber has to win it and Serena not make the SF or F one of those. For her to be #1.

I think I recalled when Martina N was mentored Kuzy she said she was too heavy, well Kyzy looks pretty fit these days

If that's the case, then I think Serena will retain. I don't have Kerbie beating Simona. Halep will get just as many balls back as Ang and remember that USO match they played last year. It was epic.

Kuzy or really NO one will be on the court long if Serena keeps serving like this. :clap. This is the Serena I have been waiting for, she plays with so much better confidence when she has her hammer.

Was Sveta spent after her match? Didn't get to see her match at all. If so, I say Serena in 2
Simona in 3
Venus in 2 (not confident in this pick. CSN might run her ragged)
Kerber in 2
Aga in 3
Coco in 2

Man, my picks aren't holding up:snicker
I am not mad at Pocket Rocket. love to see Cibby do well.
For someone so solidly built and powerful, Keys always breaks down. Maybe she doesn't spend time doing that off-the -court strengthening and conditioning:huh:

Sveta can kind of be a backboard too.

With the loss of Aga, now Serena is assured of retaining #1 ranking after Wimbledon provided Kerber does not reach finals. Kerber is the only player who can displace Serena immediately after Wimby.

Well she breaks Sveta for 5-5 and then the rains come. We'll see what Patrick has to say during this rain delay, but that 2nd serve is a love offering and she's still too tentative on the break points to build any kind of solid lead.

Lucie lost to Shvedova so the last Nike nighty is gone. Maka takes the opener over Vesnina, but down 4-1 in the 2nd. Vee/CSN in a breaker

The only way Serena gets 22 is to go back to who she is. She was an ultra-aggressive player who went for her shots. Now she has become a tentative mess who seems unsure of her game at times.
