I don't think it is a joke considering he's won as many Wimbledons as any human being ever, and was a finalist the last two years.

Nice try, though ;)

What does that mean; if Navratilova decides to enter, maybe she should get the top seed? :cover :nono :puzzled :eyepop

Don't be a smart-ass, you know what I meant.

I well know why "it is what it is," but a layman stumbling across this situation would be gobsmacked over the injustice to players who've been on the court competing and winning! :dodgy:

On the positive side, Fed served very well. Held all his games easily. Faced no break points.
64% of first serves went in. 88% of first serve points won and 68% of second serve points won.
12 Aces. He needs to maintain his serving at this level without having an off-day.

He converted only one of 9 break point chances and needed to wait until the third set to do so.
But, I would give him a pass considering Pella had a good lefty serve.

Fed played both the tie-breaks very well. Even though the score was close in the first tie-break, Fed was in command from the beginning to the end of both tie-breaks.

He had 51 winners enough to fill half an hour long high-light reel. Lots of brilliant moments.

But, the Fed of today will not be able to beat Novak. Fortunately, Fed's draw is realatively easy until he reaches QF and so he should be able to reach there despite the weaknesses.

In the post-match interview Fed said nobody knows how fit he is, including himself. This means he is probably little worried whether his body will hold up and he can recover in time for the next match, I suppose.
