British hope Kyle Edmund Brexits.

Too bad! Britain could have had 2 players in a row go down to Nole on Centre Court! "Congrats on win #29 in a row at the majors!" Should be another new record! :clap - As I've been saying, it's all gravy now! :dodgy: :popcorn :eyepop

Sam Querrey has the dubious honor of (probably) being the third best player born in 1987.

I believe that is an open era record tying with Rocket. If Novak wins one more match, he will be in sole possession of that record. Who knows, he might win another match. :laydownlaughing

If anyone wants to know how great Milos is in volleying, just watch the last game of his today's match. :cover :snicker. He botched at least 5 volleys in a single game. JMac might commit suicide.

Fed tentative on multiple occasions. Missed 4 break chances in the opening game of second set.
Movement is not good (and unlikely to become good as the event progresses).

Fed is missing tonnnnes of break points..nothing new if it was against nole/rafa..but he tends to get these against lower ranked players..not good signs

Not necessarily. As you said, he looks tentative which means that his limited movement could be the result of tentativeness, and as he gains confident he could start moving better.

That said, while Fed still looks like he could still beat most mortals, there's no way this version beats Novak - or Andy, for that matter. He looks more like a top 20 player right now.

He's been lucky to be in the top 20 in the ATP points race! Ranked and seeded #3 is a joke since he hasn't really played since Feb.! :cover  :nono

I don't think it is a joke considering he's won as many Wimbledons as any human being ever, and was a finalist the last two years.

Nice try, though ;)

Now the player that just broke Pella there is the Federer we want to see. Incredible shot-making.

Pella is a decent player. I could see him hanging around the top 40 for a few years.

What does that mean; if Navratilova decides to enter, maybe she should get the top seed? :cover :nono :puzzled :eyepop

Rankings are determined by points won in the previous season. In Wimbledon's case they have their own formula. Last year he made 2 slam finals (reached USO final without dropping a set), WTF final, final of Indian Wells, won Halle, won Istanbul, won Cinci. Not such a bad season really and hence why he was number 2 till not long ago and would still be if not for all the missed events this year but number 3 it is for now. Likely to tumble though given his physical state and the points to defend for the rest of the season.
