Why is Rafa waiting so far behind the baseline to return serve and he starting to drop the ball so freakin short.. This will not work against Novak, Murray, Stan or Cilic..when Rafa hits the ball beyond the service line and is attacking moving forward he can be competitive otherwise he is just another new inmate at Shawshank.

I think he has lost a little bit the concentration but he will get it again

Carol , this is why I would like to see him tinker with his in game stragegy.. Steppi isn't no real threat.. Serve and volley.. Play aggressively on ROS.. And take this to the later rounds against the big boys to make them Uncomfortable especially Novak and Murry

Other than Nadal, the one player that benefited the most from Raonic losing today is Gael Monfils. If Monfils continues to play well, there's a really good chance he could reach the semifinals.

As for the match, Nadal is hitting the ball very well so far. Let's hope he can continue playing this well throughout the tournament. He does need to improve his first serve tremendously.

I think he is playing well but it's true that he has to improve his first serve. And the other thing is that depending against they play they have to change the game. There are players that even are not a threat they make very uncomfortable time to their opponents

I liked Rafa or Monfils vs Raonic, I wasn't concerned. Milos had a great run at Wimbledon because Fed wasn't 100% . He won't be back to a grand slam final any time soon. Sorry herios I know you fancy Milos but it's the truth

So how did they "blow" the 1st closure of the roof during play? Surfed by just in time to see the idiot officials yacking back and forth on walkie-talkies while the court got wet! Real brain surgeons in charge in Flushing! :cover  :nono
