Going by today's performance, I don't think Novak will win USO. However, someone with good mental courage would be needed to take him out. He would be playing Jiri Vesley next who had already defeated him this year. If he gets by Vesley, then I think only Cilic can stop him.

Nah, you'll see Novak playing the next match better :D

Novak kind of dodges the question on his physical situation in the on-court presser. I am sure he will do the same in the off-court presser.

"Going by today's performance" means if he does not improve he will not win.

Does anyone know where was JJ hiding for the last two years. I don't even remember him losing matches. :puzzled.

He was not doing too much, in 2015 he got a foot injury and 2016 a knee injury which means he has not played too much in the last two years

Today he was acting pretty weird, he was hitting his leg with the racquet, he call the trainer for his right arm and I've read he has problems with his left wrist. By the way he looks thinner than ever but like I said before, he is going to play well

That's going to hurt Tiafoe.

Yep, it's growing pains.. If I was Tiafoe.. I would immediately hop on a plane to southern Calif.. Contact Pete to refine his serve and his approach to his service game. He needs a big time coach ..to bad he lost..if he had advance today..he could have made at least 77 k..that's can buy a lot of tennis serving coaching tips from Pete.

His serve is really bad...You would think that as the one shot in tennis that your opponent has no say in, players would not be sucking so bad at it but I guess you would be wrong...

Hey Murat, Can you believe Tiafoe cranked a higher mph serve than big John today, he had one clocked at 140 plus.. Sampras can fixed that for him..* btw...if Pete helps him...I want my consultant referral fee...:snicker

he looks thinner than ever

that may be the stress from his personal issues he had been experiencing,,, that would make sense because it was odd to see him so emotional afterwards a non title loss like he did at Rio

How was Novak hitting his backhand, ros and his forehand during the match.. was he able to BOSS the rallies,,, if so then he is OK..if not then he rusty..etc

What I saw it was a mixed bag. Novak hit some vintage on the stretch backhand passes, but he also wasn't quite there all the time. Left wrist didn't look like a big problem to me.

Seemed more like rust/mental issues than injury, but one could lead to the other.

Thanks.. that tells me if all holds true.. if Rafa plays outstanding for the next two weeks and Murray lives up to his level of play this year.. both of them will loose in 5 sets to Novak if they are lucky.. (Again, either player really does anything of much value to make the encounter with Novak uncomfortable for the Serbian.)
