YEC is nothing? yeah It's just the gathering of 8 best players in the whole year battling it out for the final title of the year. I guess because Nadal never won it, it is nothing. Weeks of #1 is nothing as well, I guess. Let's just say that nothing Nole's achieved warrants a little bit of praise from some Nadal fans. How 'bout 2 7-match win streaks over Nadal? That should count for something?;-):

It's nothing to me and always has been. I hope you're not as irritated as you're coming off. I don't play the comparison game because I think it's stupid. As to whether my feelings about the YEC is regarding Nadal, you guessed wrong. Before I was a Nadal fan I was a Sampras fan and I didn't count the YEC then, or now. It has nothing to do with Nadal. It's just weird that it's suddenly weighted so much on tennis sites NOW, but at the same time you don't hear anyone talking about the YEC on the women's side. I wonder why.

Didn't you compare 9 to 0 FO titles already? Yes, we'll leave it to Nole and Rafa to win more titles and other achievements in the future and at the end of their careers we can do a proper tally.

I am not irritated, I am amazed at people's bias to acknowledge or appreciate Nole's impressive achievements, like him or not. To not do so borders on trolling and spamming and has nothing to do with being a tennis fan.

Most players' careers do not center around clay, you know.

Nope, I said it was moving the bar and not weighting things fairly when you select certain achievements and ignore others. My point was that it was cherry picking; which it is.

"To not do so borders on trolling and spamming and has nothing to do with being a tennis fan."

You're missing the whole point, which is about changing the bar, not whether or not someone is a fan of Novak's.

"Most players' careers do not center around clay, you know."

What? LOL

Yeah, but you can't just arbitrarily weight one thing more than another. The Masters Series used to be 5 setters, so that's not a fair comparison either, since some people are better three set players and others excel in the five setters. Everyone has something the others don't have, which is my point. I guess I just don't understand because no one's achievements are going to mirror someone else's exactly, so why compare at all? I do agree that the YEC isn't a real tournament either, I'm confused as to why that one even comes up. That never made sense to me.

I don't think Olympic Gold should be weighed as heavily either, but neither should the YEC. That's all I'm saying.

We agree regarding YEC's and Olympics. The other part is, you know as well as I, there will always be comparisons of players by their fanbases. It's human nature.

Ha ha ha, I guess so. I find that hard to do when people have done different things. I just don't understand how people quantify that.

It's very easy. People place more value on the tournaments and stats that best suit their favorite player.:( And I'm as guilty as the next person.

LOLOLOLOL! Now that's the truth. I don't do that, honestly. That's one of my pet peeves, "assigning superiority" because you can change the factors to make a case for almost anything. I love your honesty, but I don't believe it, surely you can't be guilty of such behavior!

Really? I'll have to go back and read your posts. I don't even know who your favorite is, and may I ask what your name EdbergsGhost means? It's funny and I'm sure there's a story to go with it.

Expert Picks: Djokovic v Murray

ESPN:

Johnette Howard: Murray in five.

Greg Garber: I picked Djokovic to win here two years go, and he lost to Rafael Nadal. I picked him again last year, when he beat Nadal in the quarters -- and he lost to Wawrinka. This year, based on his dominant overall play, I chose him once more. Can't bail on him now. Djokovic in four.

Peter Bodo: It's Djokovic's time. He wins in four sets.

Brad Gilbert: Leaning to Djoker in 4 sets.

UBITENNIS:

Steve Flink: It's Djokovic's time. Djokovic was worn out in Rome. This time they are physically even and Djokovic is primed to take the title.

TENNIS.COM

Steve Tignor: It should be tough, but Djokovic wouldn’t expect his most satisfying and long-awaited career win to come any other way. Winner: Novak Djokovic

EUROSPORT:

Greg Rusedski: We’re looking forward to an epic match, Can Murray do it two times in a row? Yes he can. This is going to be a sensational final,

OTHERS:

Chris Chase (Fox Sports): Novak Djokovic in four

I find myself as a neutral, going with the Brit today. How nationalistic of me

hmmm... tough one. Novak is the better player. But I've been impressed with Murray's aggression.
