I don't get it. If Cecchinato is that good, why doesn't he have better results? The guy has been pro since 2010 and basically been hanging out in Challengers and Futures. He's got a 3-18 record in ATP Pro Tour matches so far.

Not saying that he can't be a late-ish bloomer and be a good player, but saying that he has more potential than Kei Nishikori, a top 5 player, is stretching it, imo.

I agree with you, but since you (apparently) put Ferrer in the same level as Davydenko, I will pretend that I don´t.

Ferrer has been a perennial middle of the rode player while Davydenko snuck a few good wins and a WTF! Ferrer hasn't been close in comparison even with 1 major final on his resume! Ferrer just played longer when Davydenko just overplayed and was out of the game earlier! :nono  :cover

Of course, there must be a reason why his results are that bad. I have not even heard of his name before. We know you like stat (actually, I too). But, there is also something called assessing the player by seeing what happens in the court. Cecchinato was definitely striking the ball very well. He gave a pretty good fight to Kyrgios. All three sets were very close. But, clean ball striking is not the only thing that is needed to get results.
