I'm going for Federer in 4. He might get it done in 3. I'm liking the way Roger is gliding through the tournament. Berdych is coming of a gruelling fourth round match.

Berdych isn't playing well. Federer in 3 sets.

Tomic got the old guy all fired up. He'll keep coming out angry and thrashing anyone he faces on his way to meet Djokovic. Fed in three.

Lol. That deserves a thread in it's own right. Has Bernie earned the stripes to call out Federer?

I'd say no.

While I think Roger should win this in 4 sets, for the first time in the tournament I'm really nervous for him. I don't think he's beaten Berd-man in the last 2 slams where they've faced each other, so Tomas is going to be extremely dangerous for him. On the other hand I don't think that Tomas has faced this type of Roger at a slam in recent years. I want to use the comfortable wins Roger has had on him in non-slam tournaments as a guide, but I can't help feeling that 5 set slams are a different ball game. We shall see...

One things for sure, if Roger is to stand any chance against Novak (assuming he beats Kei, which is not a certainty) then he needs to take Tomas out quickly

Berdych gave Roger tons of trouble between 2010-2013 and has won the last 2 at majors in convincing fashion. Roger has won the last 4 and all 3 last year were blowouts. I think Roger will win but obviously Berd is dangerous and a loss or a long match wouldn't be surprising. And as Federberg mentioned a long match vs. Berd would automatically doom him against Novak.

Another interesting QF. I think all of them are actually.

Fed in three though.

Haha, I enjoyed reading that interview. Bernie being all defensive, and punching back at Fed. Uncharacteristic comments by Fed btw I must say. Should be fun the next time they play each other. No fan of Tomic but appreciate him taking on Fed verbally this way.

That is typical Federer actually. He is brutally frank about other players. I think it's the Swiss German in him. He has been frank about many players when asked. Just think Nadal and Murray in particular. I didn't see anything wrong with what he says, we all think the same. I like the honesty

Hmm you wouldn't say. What did he say about those two?

He talked about Murray having to change from being a passive pusher if he wanted to win slams. And described Rafa as being one dimensional if my recollection is correct. Ages ago

I remember. He seems to have become less vocal about other players as he's got older... but at the time he made the comments - he was absolutely right on the analysis.

I recall Fed saying Novak played like a teenager when he hit the Shot at the US Open 2011. Lol, probably one of the most memorable moments in tennis and Fed couldn't give Novak credit for it. I guess it was a bit early after the match and Fed tends to lack grace in defeat. That's ok, I enjoyed the implosion.

Personally the best quote by Fed was directed at Novak's parents at Monte Carlo: With a remarkable "BE QUIET" & they shut up in silence. It was awesome.

If that's what gets you exited, good for you.

Has Fed ever trash talked poor Berdy?
