This definitely doesn't look like the 2 seed vs the 12 seed, but more like the 2 seed vs the 112 seed. Poor Reeshard - Roger is just that much better.

The question is, could ANYONE have beaten Roger tonight? Maybe 2010 Rafa? Roger looked unbeatable.

That, and Roger played amazing. He was basically perfect. Hope he saves some for Stan and (probably) Novak. He seemed to peak too early at Wimbledon, playing his best in the SF vs. Andy Murray but not looking as good vs. Novak.

50 winners for Roger, 8 for Gasquet. Wow. Richard didn't even have one break chance.

Wow. That was impressive. Federer looks so good right now. He looks like he's ready to win a few more slams. DOMINANT. He can get revenge on Djoko for Wimbledon or on Cilic for last year's USO.

Only blemish is 0/3 on SABR points.

Incidentally, Stan won a SABR point against Kevin today. Is that even allowed? Hope he pays royalty fees for that on Friday. :)

Roger's way too nice a guy because I wish he had that ruthless mentality all of the time, "You are unworthy of more than 90 minutes of my time, so here is today's lesson. Please pay attention so I don't have to repeat the same shots twice..." and just kick 'em to the curb. :laydownlaughing

Roger looked mighty good, but he does everything better than the Frenchman. His movement and shots on the run have improved in the last year. Strangely, what may doom him is nervousness in the big moments of the final (I do believe he will get by Stanislas). He has lost two straight major finals to Novak and that may work its way in. If his first serve percentage drops below 60%, we will know he is tight. It means a lot more to him now, so I think the nerves get worse as a great player ages. It has happened to Nadal this year, and it happened to Federer too in the past. If he stays calm and continues serving and moving the way he is, he really should capture a record 6th US Open, but there is still a lot of battling left to do.
