Just got up guys. How did the first set go? One break?

Yeah like 5 breaks. Berdych starting really well, then overhitting. Novak generally playing pretty average, but it is getting the job done.

After a hard day Saturday, working overtime... I think the world #1 isn't too happy about going to work on Sunday. :nono

Or they have a brutal semifinal... it's exactly what I was thinking D.

The worst situation would be if Novak ends up losing to the Fedster in the final.

Roger will not make another RG final, trust me. He is getting every season worse at that slam, he is too old for that.

I hope you're right. Federer is still the main threat after Rafa on clay I think. Roger is still the number 2 player in the world.

Credit to Berdy though. I'm liking what I'm seeing from him.

Novak climbed that mountain yesterday to beat Nadal... being here today must seem anticlimactic.

It is part of the curriculum as a top player to be able to manage such situations. The way he dominates right now the field, he cannot let things like that happen, to have a mental letdown, just because you defeated the strongest opponent. I know that in theory sounds right and is more difficult to execute, but he should be able to cope with such scenario.

Really appreciate what Tomas is bringing today... just watching Nole's body language, the way he's talking to himself and shaking his head. I think he was liking Murat's idea of giving the trophy yesterday. :snicker

Yes, and that is why I trust him at the moment. There was that vocal disturbance which influenced that break of serve at 5-3, shrugged it off in the next game, then he was back to business.

Great hold Tomas. Didn't think you had it in you....

It's raining out there and they still watered the court after the first set. So Berdych says to the umpire... "Could you water the court a little more?"

Even if Berdych loses today, he has been improving since Vallverdu signed on as his coach. Looking forward to his play the rest of the year. He just might pull one in somewhere.

It's after 11 pm here so got to hit the hay. Go Berdych!

See you Kirijax.

There is a rain delay now anyways.

Its true, playing "finals" before finals can be more complicated for top player.

So the guys came back after 55 minutes, warmed up with new balls, but now they start again with the old wet match balls. Why? Would any player object to starting with new balls? Who does it hurt to start with fresh balls? If it was a 10 minute break, I get it but almost an hour?

One of the tennis traditions I can do without.
