Oh brother, I thought you liked Rafa. I'd expect that from some others round here...

Have thicker skin, buddy.

Too many French Open defeats (at Nole's own hand), not to celebrate this one to the fullest brother.

Meh, Nadal was never going to beat Djokovic at this level. Got bossed way to much despite Novak not being particularly sharp. Difference is the last two years Nadal found his backhand and more importantly, his forehand down the line. The winners numbers are quite revealing in that regard.

Nadal was moving well and playing with energy but he hasn't felt the ball well all year, and he wasn't suddenly going to do it against the best player in the world. Expected result that still had to be delivered, so props to Novak for a business-like match.

That's it. The forehand was missing, the backhand. I thought he looked less sharp in his movement. Last year he aggressively took control in the second set, this year his anxiety increased instead. He's nowhere near the form we'd hope to see, and by the end novak was able to take large swings at everything, without fear. It was hugely impressive of Novak how he finished the match...

Congratulations to Djokovic for finally beating Nadal at Roland Garros. Not an easy task but he finally did it. Also, with this win, Djokovic has beaten both Federer and Nadal in every Slam which is an impressive stat.

As for Nadal, I can't be too disappointed about that match. This match just showed his level throughout 2015. I do think he will come back as Top 5 player maybe not this year but next year for sure. Also, 70-2 is not a shabby record.

Finally, it looks like we might never see a male player win a single Slam six straight times.

I saw your new signature. I doubt that's celebrating the greatest champ we've seen at a single event, either...

I'm assuming you meant at Rafa's own hands.

The commentators on ITV said that in the match against Sock v the conditions in last year's final the balls were bouncing an average of 8 inches higher. That's a HUGE difference.

If not for the injuries, I think Rafa would have won.

You're referring to all his injuries throughout the years that led him to become a shell of himself at 29 years of age? I agree ;)

Yup, Roger missed out on the US Open in 2009 also. I also doubt it'll happen anytime soon.

Only have it on in the background and barely watching but Ferrer has broken back from 3-0 down to bring it back on serve at 2-3.

That's a very significant observation. Roger and Bjorn have come close, Rafa has 9 out of 10, and he may set other records, but six in a row...it's becoming a mirage in the sport... :nono

He also missed out the 2008 Wimbledon too.

Never assume B.S.

You're right, my bad. Those losses to Melzer and Kohlschreiber certainly were at Nole's own hand. Fair point. He should never lose to these nobodies.

I put that up yesterday or the day before... my "faith" gesture toward Nole.
