Murray has improved considerably in comparison to last year. He's moving well, hitting the ball cleaner and faster, and doesn't seem to be "pushing" as much as he used to. Approaching the net a bit more (in general) and just going for his shots. I like it!

Yup. Like I said last year repeatedly, writing his obituary (the way many did on these forums) was so premature. He's still clearly a much better player than anyone other than the usual suspects.

Murray was always going to improved considerably after his back opp, just took awhile to get back 2 where he was.I must admit i was wondering @ times myself on this, but i'm pleased to say i think this is well behind Andy now.

Part of me is bitter about not seeing Nadal-Murray here. The haven't played at a slam in a while (I don't count last year's FO semi because that wasn't much of a match, lol), and I think their matches are actually the most entertaining out of the top 4 combinations when they both play well.

Andy's forehand not quite as good as it looked at this tournament in 2012 when Lendl first took ever but I'd say that's the best it has looked since. Also, if he is to play Djokovic, he needs his serve to work as well as it currently is. Murray's serve is one of the most odd aspects of his game. It's quite big, but is often not that damaging. Yet you see other matches where it's almost unplayable.

Berdych suddenly dropping sets reminds me of waiting for a bus in Dublin: you wait ages for one and then two come along together... :snigger

Yeah I don't know exactly what the deal was (if someone could clarify that'd be nice), but he did say something to him. Berdych does have a baby-like attitude at times and he does become confrontational for no reason. I remember when Gulbis told him to relax. That was hilarious.

Murray's return position on Berdych's first serve on the deuce side is pretty weird. He's standing right in the middle then moving to one side before Berdych serves. Kinda like a soccer goalkeeper before a penalty kick. I actually think he needs to stop doing that, as it makes changing directions if he guesses wrong pretty difficult.

In the 1st set Murray celebrated a point by staring at Berdych's box (where Murray's former coach is) and yelling very loud.
When they changed ends Berdych stared at Murray the entire time he was walking because Berdych didn't like what Murray did.

One thing I've noticed with Murray is his serve does get weaker as the match progresses. I don't know if his shoulder gets tired or what but he noticeably serves slower the deeper a match progresses.

Wow. I just lost a WHOLE lot of respect for Murray. Classless and childish.

Why? It's grist to the mill. If Berdy can't handle this kind of cut and thrust, he's better off not playing...

It's the whole thing with his former coach and how they ended up splitting up. If Murray doesn't get his way with everyone agreeing with him, apparently he's going to act like a jerk. Way to go Murray.
