I don't think he'll be tired. First and second sets were so nondescript and listless it seems he was resting there anyway. I think he should have won this in two easy sets but I don't foresee it being an issue tomorrow...
Rafa game should be finally tuned. He should have a good feel of the ball and his confidence should be at its highest.. However, Fresh legs is a must to be highly competitive.

That'll only come into it if it's a really long match. Mental sharpness too. Make no mistake, I think Rafa has shown himself to be competitive at this event, more than any this year. But I think he's not yet "back" enough to beat Novak. He might take him to three, if he stays calm and finds his shots, but if he loses, it won't be down to fatigue. It'll be down to him just not quite being back to his levels yet.

Like I say, this Autumn sets Rafa up well for next season, and that's most likely his main goal...

I agree, my brother Kieran. Even if Nadal defeated Ferrer in 1 hour and 30 minutes, I do not think it alter his chances tomorrow against Djokovic.

The one thing I liked about Nadal in this match is that he found a way to defeat his opponent even if he lost his lead in the 1st set.

More often than not in 2015, Nadal could not find a way to win a set or match especially after leading in the set.

During this 2015 Fall season, he is starting to finish matches instead of letting his opponent break him back and lose the match.

In my opinion, that is a KEY component if Nadal wants to play well in 2016.

Guys,, I think maybe this year has been such a lull for Rafa, maybe I just need to have the belief restored that he has it to still defeat Djoker.

Morning to everyone on the dark side of the planet. I see Nadal had a bit of trouble with Ferrer. Hope that doesn't affect the outcome tomorrow. Only one more match to go and we can finally get to the semifinals. Sure hope Fed stays around for the final if he beats Stan tomorrow.

I'm not saying he's going to beat Djoker, buddy. He's still not back to his best and maybe the most we can hope for is that he makes it competitive. I agree 1000% with Rafanoy, though: Rafa has come a long way and the stubborn way he didn't let it go today is a positive, regardless of the outcome tomorrow.

Djoker can wait... ;)

If Andy wins, we get the first Big Four WTF SF get-together since 2010.
If Andy wins, he clinches the year-end No. 2 ranking.
If Andy wins, he's going to be too tired to win the DC next week.
If Andy wins, we get to see another Fed Beatdown tomorrow

If Stan wins, ...........

I'll get back to you on that one.

The only thing I know is that the winner will have to play vs Federer tomorrow and then the winner will play the final on Sunday ;)

Its dark here as well.

For Rafa match, I was wondering why was so important to him to not to be energy wise and tank the match, so to be spared for Djoker. Was those 200 points, or 150.000 reward ? But probably he doesn't want to show he is vulnearable, and had to win, for morale boost as well. Can be double sided stick for tomorrow. If Djoker will play as bad as yesterday, this Rafa will make him troubles.

Honesty after the horrible year Rafa has had I'm very impressed of his results in this tournament which is his worst surface and still not playing his best. Then if he would lose tomorrow I don't think it would be a big deal playing vs the #1 and being his best surface without any doubts. I'm sure that these results has helped him to recovery the confidence and to do even better preparation for the 2016 which is his goal :plot

Will we finally see a tiebreak? Haven't had one yet this tournament I don't think.

Rafa and Ferrer played one in the earlier match.

Ah, that's right. I only remember the first two games before Mr. Sandman brought me a dream.

Nice going by Andy there. Drops the last 5 points of the tie break to drop it 7-4. Just do a quickie 6-1 set and get out of Dodge.
