This is a hard match to predict. A match with contrasting styles.

Bouchard has made her 3rd consecutive s/final...which is impressive

Halep has made a final at Roland Garos. This is her first s/final on grass.

This is their first meeting on grass. After watching both of their q/final wins, I am favoring Bouchard; should be a good match.

Bouchard to win in 3 sets.

I just have no clue about these girls! I don't know them even though at the top of the rankings! I need to watch the ladies more often, but it's hard without a fave like Henin, Hingis, or going back a ways to Navratilova, Goolagong, and Wade! Court was dropped after her rude comments about Martina and her lifestyle! Be religious all you want, but keep your mouth shut gratuitously insulting someone who was so much better! :nono :puzzled

I suggest you start watching the women's game at present....good to see players like Bouchard,Halep challenging and making great strides.Even though my favourite player Serena, got knocked out earlier.I am excited to see some fresh faces at Wimbledon this year.

We only remember the current event but there are many other new faces which failed on grass but are good on hard and clay.
Keys, Garcia, Mugu, Bencic, Svitolina, 2 new czech girls, 2 south americans... they will cause damage and improve on other courts.
Grass is played only one month a year. we are just caught by the current event.

^ Agree...I was just commenting on the present.

Talking about present, for Simona the tournament starts tomorrow !
Until now it was like training sessions with one bad session in R2.
Tomorrow its the real stuff. If she starts like today she will lose the 1st set for sure and will be in serious trouble.
She wont repeat today the slow start. She knows it will not be good enough. She will be sharp right from the start.

I am expecting a close match.Halep winning would not surprise me,even though I have picked Bouchard in 3 sets. You have to be proud of Simona.

Pride is just a vain thing. She is much more than pride for me. She has human values... I wont start opening my big mouth again... I will sound silly and annoying with my Simona mantra :D
"change your brain" blah blah this, blah blah that ;)

Hard one to call, but of course I have to go with Eugenie or I would be sent off to Romania! I think our Canadian will do it in 2 sets. Calm, controlled and no grunting, just an occasional muttering when she makes a mistake. Now, about grunting etc. I was very close to Vika when photographing her at Eastbourne, her shrieking did not really bother me, but the one that made my insides curdle was Schiavone! On a small court it sounded disgusting, you could even hear her shriek when I was at the photographers pit at Centre court which is 300 metres away!!:nono

Maybe you need to invest in a pair of 'ear muffs' next time...I see your point.

I get a little tired of the constant complaint about the grunts. Yes it gets annoying but Nadal also makes a sound on many of his strokes and nobody complains. Quite frankly I find it sexist.

He annoys the hell out of me but there are many other things about him that annoy me so I usually don't mention it but hey, I just did :p Granollers and Ferrer are the worst male grunters though.

My posts obviously haven't been read by somebody! I do nothing but complain about Nadal's act on court! He should be sanctioned for so many thing; esp. all that freakin' noise he makes while stroking the ball! It's obscene that he's been allowed to get away with it for so long! I know I'd raise a ruckus if I were playing him! :nono :puzzled

I only read the WTA forum... I really wasn't meaning to just pick you out. It's a constant point of media attention and it really bothers me. Some of the biggest grunters in the women's game are also the best players. They make a silly sound, it doesn't diminish their skill. I just think women get a really hard time in the media. I mean the Wozniaki story a year or two ago about making fun of Serena got FAR more attention virally than Serena totally dominating the next year. Vika's grunting get's far more attention even after years of stories about it than her trying to make a comeback after such a long injury layoff.

This is totally off topic though and I apologize. GO BOUCHARD GO HALEP!

The semi final of the top half looks more tenacious but it means nothing in Wimby.
Did we knew that Marion will win it? "anything can happen"

Both of them have spectacular arms.
