H2H is 1-0 in favor of Simo, a 3 setter this year in Indian Wells.

Either one will be a new Wimby finalist soon.
Who wins?

I took Genie in 2 because I just like her too much to go against her, but it'll probably go 3 sets and then it's anyone match.

Eugenie in three tough sets. She gets so low to the ground and has tremendous fight' plus she won the juniors here only two years ago! That being said, I would be just as happy if Halep were to get through.

In other words, you claim that you dont show your real emotions even when you do.
You have an interesting style I must say :)

Getting serious and its the match thread so here it is:
Genie will be tough to beat. Unlike Sabine or Angie who arent always stable mentally, Genie is always stable and balanced mentally. She always plays her game. This prevents ups and downs in her level of play.
Imo its her best quality as a player. She is solid and doesnt have too many moods.
It will be tough for both players. Before the QFs I said I cant predict anything. I am saying the same now. This tournament is too random. There is no stand out.
Simona is still green on the grass and was lucky to get Sabine in a bad day today.
I have no clue what will happen in the next 3 matches in Wimby

I picked Halep in 3. I think she's too consistent for Genie.

I believe if Bouchard is to win she must do it in two sets. If Halep is able to get it to three I think her consistency and the weight of the situation will get to Bouchard.

I'm just so happy for these two. So many commentators were saying they were BOTH due for a letdown here. People said grass didn't suit Halep's game and that Bouchard looked really tired after the French Open. Both women proved people wrong. This just proves you don't exactly need the game for any given surface as long as you have consistency and mental strength you just go out there and play the same game you do well with from start to finish.

I so hope to see these two battling for 1 and 2 for years to come. Finally consistency in the field of young women players.

Great interview with Wim Fissette Simona's coach on the WTA website:
http://www.wtatennis.com/news/article/3944761/title/mccarvel-coach-fissette-on-halep

Some major ranking moves by 3-4 players here:
The good:
Simo - only 175 points below Li in NO.2 now! Who would have thought a year ago! :wow:
Petra - A win on Lucie and she is ranked 4 above Aga and Masha, sending Masha to 6th place.
Genie - jumped from 13 to 8 !! If she wins Wimby she will be ranked 5, and above "mini Genie" ! ;)
Lucie - jumped from 23 to 17 and matched her highest ranking ever from Aug 2012 ! Beat Petra and she is 13 in the world!

The bad:
Sabine - from 19 to 33 after Wimby.

OMG, what happened to the German Princesses? You'd think one would get through; shocking in short order! What a shame for Kerber after clearing Pova out of there! It was hers for the taking I'm sure! I won't mind another Kvitova win with Martina beaming in the royal box watching it all!

This is a hard match to predict.A match with contrasting styles.

Bouchard has made her 3rd consecutive s/final...which is impressive

Halep has made a final at Roland Garos. This is her first s/final on grass.

This is their first meeting on grass. After watching both of their q/final wins,I am favouring Bouchard, should be a good match.

Bouchard to win in 3 sets.

I just have no clue about these girls! I don't know them even though at the top of the rankings! I need to watch the ladies more often, but it's hard without a fave like Henin, Hingis, or going back a ways to Navratilova, Goolagong, and Wade! Court was dropped after her rude comments about Martina and her lifestyle! Be religious all you want, but keep your mouth shut gratuitously insulting someone who was so much better! :nono :puzzled

I suggest you start watching the women's game at present....good to see players like Bouchard,Halep challenging and making great strides.Even though my favourite player Serena, got knocked out earlier.I am excited to see some fresh faces at Wimbledon this year.

I get a little tired of the constant complaint about the grunts. Yes it gets annoying but Nadal also makes a sound on many of his strokes and nobody complains. Quite frankly I find it sexist.

I've never particularly cared for Nadal either! SO? What's your point? :nono :puzzled :cry
