Raonic will not be a future number one with performances like today. He never believed he could win this match. In five years time, when the likes of Djokovic, Nadal and Murray will almost certainly be fading from the top of the game, Dimitrov is the man who will be taking up the mantle in my opinion, although I will try not to base my opinion too heavily on what we've seen at Wimbledon this fortnight, and bear in mind that Raonic has pretty much always been ranked ahead of Grig when they are the same age.
It is interesting to compare Grigor with Milos. Dimitrov seems to be improving on all fronts, building a "jack of all trades" skill set where he has a good serve, forehand, backhand and athleticism, the one thing I feel he could improve on significantly is his return game. On the other hand, Raonic seems to concentrate on maximising his strengths, the serve and the forehand, more than he already has, while neglecting (to an extent) his weaknesses, the return, the backhand and the defensive side of his game. He/his team seems to want to improve these weaknesses to a bare minimum "functional" level and concentrate on getting him the best serve, forehand and net skills of his counterparts.
