Alooooohaaaaa Everyone

If Roger is to ever win another Slam, the time is now.... His game is so much better than 2013... and the competition seems to have their own issues, from Andy to Novak, and Rafa. Further, the progress of the new comers and late bloomers, (Stan & Ernie), has made for exciting tennis, and unpredictable results.

That said, if a) Roger gets through the first few rounds in 3 sets, not 4 not 5, but 3, and b) holds his serve against Rafa in the SF, he should not be overly tired, and should be mentally strong to challenge Rafa. Wishful thinking ? Of course, but given the progress Roger has made to work through his issues of 2013, demonstrates to me he is not done yet.

W ROGER FEDERER
Finals Rafa
SF Novak, Murray
QF Tsonga, Kevin Anderson, Isner, Milos

DH Gulbis
WC Dimitrov

Actually, I will not be surprised if we see Fed and Junior in the finals.

Aloha

OK, I've compiled the predictions so far. People can still add theirs but will receive -3 per day.

Notice that one or two folks picked Gulbis as their Wildcard. Ernesto isn't qualified as he came into Wimbledon ranked #10 (Wildcard is outside top 10).

And here are how they rank based upon prediction. I gave 5 points for the winner, 3 points for the runner-up, 2 points for semifinalist, and 1 point for quarterfinalist, dark horse, and wildcard.

66 Nadal
59 Murray
53 Federer
51 Djokovic
21 Dimitrov, Raonic
17 Berdych
12 Lopez
7 Gulbis, Isner, Nishikori
5 Ferrer, Tsonga
4 Kohlschreiber, Wawrinka, Janowicz
3 Cilic, Gasquet, Verdasco
2 Anderson, Tomic
1 Monfils, Hewitt, Karlovic, Brown

What stands out for me are a few things:

One, the Big Four are still very much head and shoulders above everyone else and, unsurprisingly, far more closely grouped than at the French Open.

Two, Dimitrov and Raonic have really become larger threats in peoples' minds, even more so than Berdych, Ferrer, and the diminished Tsonga.

Three, Feliciano Lopez has received a lot of love, while Wawrinka and Tsonga haven't.

Four, Bernard Tomic? Really?!

So I need to switch my DH and WC as I have Raonic as my WC, correct?

I switched them for you - they're a bit confusing and I figure no one should be penalized if they got the wildcard and dark horse mixed up; they amount to the same thing, really.

Yeah, he's had his moments - although not for a year or two it seems. Anyhow, sorry for mocking you - I was just kidding, really (and you're not alone!). Anyhow, he beat Donskoy, who isn't a bad player, so who knows?

I was surprised how many went Nadal to win or finish F/SF, given his last two years' results, and the number of people who like to remind us that the first week at Wimbledon is " traditionally tough" for him. (Which I find to be a "truism" not a truth.) Anyway, I wasn't going to pick Raonic at all, but I was flailing around for a DH, so as not to vote Dimitrov 2x. Raonic hasn't actually had good results at Wimbledon, so who knows this year, either. I did try to shake up my picks a little. Verdasco has already let me down, though.
