The final will between the clash of WTA Rising Stars,Pliskova and Giorgi.

Pliskova takes a 2-3 record in WTA finals, including 1-3 this year.Giorgi lost her one previous WTA final at Katowice.

Pliskova defeated Giorgi in straight sets in their only previous meeting in Dubai, though that match was close.

Pliskova to win in a tightly fought match.

Really good final in Linz going on right now. One set all. MTO Pliskova hope it's not serous - happened in 1st game third set. Well the final is in a deciding state - Pliskova up 51 and now 55 - tight. Fun to see Giorgis father - he's got nerves  Dramatic win for Pliskova 67 63 76. Congrats :clap

This is Karolina's fith wta finals this year. Impressive.

And yet it looks like she'll miss Sofia.

Why do you think so?

Last one qualifying by ranking is Alize Cornet. Between her and Pliskova there's Lisicki and Kuznetsova that also have won Internationals this year. The good thing is Pliskova has nothing to defend next week, but Kuzzy and Lisicki do (SF in Luxembourg an Moscow). I don't see Pliskova going deep in Moscow, she must be really tired already.
Sad that even with 2 title wins she has not enough points to get to Sofia. She needs better results at slams.

Karolina is now the first not qualifying. She needs a least semi in Moscow to surpass Muguruza. Kuzy and Lisicki are behind her. Theoretically she could get the last WC, but that will most probably get Pironkova as in previous years :-(

WC are already settled, Penneta (for winning Indian Wells) and Pironkova (for being Bulgarian).
