Genie pulls out citing a left thigh injury. Pironkova gets walk-over.

#7 Karolina Pliskova is the only seed left. 2 Qualifiers made the quarterfinals. Camila is still in the mix too.

IMO, all these pull outs (Ana, Genies) are most probably bogus ones. Once they
qualify for Singapore, they don't want to waste their energy in an itsy bitsy tourney.
They sign up before, as they don't know they will qualify. They don't want to
incur the wrath of the tournament director and or get some monetary penalty
and so they show up and pull an inury drama.

Yes, but I think 90% of people would agree with you. I think they should be able to withdraw by saying the truth, without penalties and media rage. In Moscow is even worse, they have no top 10 seed left now. Woz is not on their player list anymore.
