HOly moly, I wrote penalty!!! I meant free kick, but probably was thinking of issues at work (which is where I am--only saw a glimpse of the game for a few minutes). Not new to football, but certainly not as regular a viewer as some are here. I watch the Cup, El Clasico and a few other games now and then, mostly from the Spanish or English leagues.

Hopefully this thread is a generous place for folks like me who only nip into futbol, but enjoy it, especially the World Cup. Was arranging to view US v. Germany with friends, just because the dates worked…we thought it would fun but futile to cheer for the US. Who knew it was going to be a nail-biter?!

You may be right. When it is win or go home time, the defensive play will be unavoidable. I hope you are wrong though.

That was the third time he bit someone. The guy is nuts. At least FIFA had the guts to suspend him for nine matches and ban for four months from any football-related activity + a fine of 100,000 Swiss franks.
