Heading into Wimbledon, I think the draw will be crucial for Roger. Some thoughts: He will be 3rd in the rankings on monday but I guess due to the ranking formula they use in Wimbledon he will be seeded 2nd at the very least. Given that Nadal went out very early last year while Ferrer made the quarters and won in Hertogenbosch, could that put him above Nadal in their formula? If it does, we could have a scenario where Fed is seeded 2nd and Ferrer 4th which would make Fed's road to the final a lot easier if these two were to be drawn together in the same half.

If Roger also somehow avoids (not saying he couldn't beat them) Berdych and Tsonga in the quarterfinals, he would be favored to go all the way again into the final and then it's just one match. I know that's a lot of speculation and ifs and buts. Just trying to create a scenario in which I see legitimate chances for Roger to get him that 8th Wimbledon crown. I hope the 'draw stars' will align in his favor for one last time.

Nope, Roger will not get seeded second at Wimbledon. His bonus points, while more than what Andy is getting are not sufficient to close the gap between them: 670 points in ranking. Comes Monday, both Andy and Roger are losing 360 points each, so the current gap stays.

Here are the bonus points receved:

Roger 100% for 2012 ( 2000 Wimby + 150 Halle) + 75% 2011 ( 360 Wimby) = 2420
Andy 100% 2012 ( 1200) + 75% ( 720 W + 250 Queens) = 1927.50

So Roger is getting 2420 bonu oints and Andy 1927.50 , so Fed is getting 492 points more, but is less than 670, therefore Andy will get seeded second.
,
As far as Rafa vs David, Rafa has slightly more bonus points than David due to 2011, but that won't matter, their seeding in London will be decided here at RG in the upcoming matches. In order to Rafa keep his #4 seeding, he must win the title and also hope that David doesn't make the final.

Thank you, herios. Much appreciated since I always struggle with those ranking issues. With Fed being seeded 3rd and Rafa likely to be 5th, the draw for Wimbledon suddenly becomes very very interesting.

I'd like to see Gulbis do 2 things at Wimbledon. (A), take out Berdych again (no offense to T-Berd, I like his game very much but it makes Fed's path a whole lot easier should they be drawn in the same quarter) and (B) win more than one match! Last year Gulbis played a blinder beating Berdych and a poor follow up match. We also have Rosol to hopefully do some damage.

I'd say every draw is crucial to Federer from here on out maybe aside from USO. As of now I still think Roger can navigate a tough draw there and quite easily if he is playing up to capabilities. The only problem there is no rest between semis and finals but he is still going to beat Tsonga and most big hitters there for sure and I think he would beat Berdych more often than not.

Wimbledon is a different story due to his ROS. He is very vulnerable against a big hitter before the semis where he would be playing Murray or Djokovic.

Good news then, I thought they were still having a Sunday final this year.
