For example... if you check out the Forbes list which is based on income from endorsements and prize money for each of the last 5 years... income mind you.. not net worth. Federer has consistently been in the top 10 list for global sports men, earning on average $50 - 60m in each of those years. Let's take the lower number... that adds up to $250m accumulated over that period. How can his net worth be only $180m? Doesn't make any sense. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a net worth in excess of $500m
Forbes lists tend to be better than most of the other sites that try to do this, but they only focus on publicly available information. They can't know if the individual has made huge investment gains or losses. It just focuses on known endorsement deals and prize money. I recall 50 Cent being asked if the Forbes estimation of his net worth was accurate and he laughed and suggested they were massively underestimating things (that might have been hip hop bravado who knows!).
I wouldn't be surprised if Andy Murray out earns everyone other than Federer though. Sometimes where you come from has a huge impact, think Nishikori and Li Na...
I know Li Na earned a ton of money and the $ does not match her accomplishments at all. I guess you are rewarded for being mediocra just like those Wall Street hacks who collapsed the economy they all got huge bonues for shoddy work....unbelievable.
Speaking as one of those 'hacks' it's not as simple as the media narrative  There are as many bad people in the financial community as any where else. That's life buddy. But that's not the point... I think you grossly underestimate what Li Na has achieved and frankly unless you also have an issue with Hollywood stars or basket ball stars making large sums of money I'm not sure what your beef is. It's capitalism get used to it :laydownlaughing
