Qualifer Prizmic d Shelton 64 67(4) 76(5) never faced a BP and played the big points well

Some breaking news,
After the results of the tests carried out today, we have decided that the most prudent thing is to be cautious and not participate in Rome or Roland Garros. While we wait to access the evolution to decide when we will return to the court. This is a difficult time for me, but I am sure we will come out stronger.

Cilic had food poisoning yesterday and could not recover in time and Fonseca got a walkover to the next round

WC Jodar wins the 1st set 63 over de Minaur, as I mentioned yesterday I havent been impressed with de Minaur's form the last couple of months, not surprised Jodar wining the 1st set. BTW Jodar is from Madrid and understands the playing conditions well.
On his 4th MP WC Jodar much to the delight of the fans, defeats the No 5th seed de Minaur 63 61
This is Jodar's fist Top Ten win

Jodar vs. Fonseca is a nice popcorn match of teenagers. Jodar has probably climbed up the ranks of prospects more than anyone this year. Fonzie on the cusp of taking a step forward, but seems to be putting it off. Mensik and Tien are doing fine, but neither is "wowing."

Jannik after his match went and watched Jodar's match against de Minaur,, Jodar great striker of the ball off both wings and for a tall player moves well and growing up in Madrid understands the playing conditions well

That’s really sad news. I hope he’s well enough for Wimbledon, but a wrist injury? Bah! They’re the worst. I don’t know what his injury is or what prognosis is, but I hope he recovers. He’s one of the most gifted tennis players ever.

The obvious problem with tennis today is that there’s only 2 players at the very top, with Novak as their most dangerous opponent. The rest of the field are hopeless when it comes to slams. So we’ll see Novak or Jannik win, benefiting from the absence of the world number one and 2-time defending champion.

We’ve all seen this film before…

With management having a brace splint and using anti-inflammatory treatments it can be successful around 4-6 weeks, of course that depends on the athlete, some heal faster than others, complete rest is a must 'muscle edema in the pronata teres. The pronata teres main function is to pronate ( turn down the palm downward and flex the forearm at the elbow). The good news is there isnt a 'tear'
News coming out of the Alcaraz camp is the goal to come back for Queens, then Wimbledon if all goes well.

Thanks Margaret! They better strap him to the sofa because I’d say he’ll find it hard to keep still! Will the brace splint completely stop movement?

Yes the brace splint which he has been wearing since the 1st lot of scans since Barcelona, immobilizes the wrist joint, keeping it in a neutral position to reduce pain and swelling

Thanks again Margaret! Good to have someone with a medical background to brief us. You think this is an injury he can get past? Or will he always be limited, or vulnerable?

As long as he dosent rush back, does his rehab he should be okay, of course there will be ongoing scans to monitor his rehab progress., he also has youth on his side, which for healing is a plus, thank goodness there isnt a 'tear' that would have meant more time off the tour than the 4-6 weeks time line.

Tracey Austin said on T2 that Sasha Z or Felix has a good opportunity to make the #2 seed..Felix would have to run the table during the rest of the clay season which is highly unlikely..

Personally I dont think clay has been FAA best surface, even though I cant stand Zverev or his boring game, I feel Zverev's game suits clay better.

Here is a stat!,
21 yo qualifer Dani Vallejo takes out Tien 64 63 to become the first player from Paraguay in R3 of a 'Masters 1000 this century" long time between drinks :)

BTW, I thought Tien and his game would suit the clay, Chang has some work to do with his young charge.

This is why I love clay tennis, it does separate the 'men from the boys" my favorite time of year
