There's been "near perfection" at the USO a few times! OTTH, Lendl won his '85 USO dropping a set to some kid early in the tourn. by the name of Yzaga! When Dokovic won his last one in '23, he literally donated 2 sets to his countryman Djere, but otherwise ran thru the draw w/o difficulty! Went on to take another Paris Masters & the YEC! He was on a true heater as the old man of the tour's elite!

And Nadal came close, in 2010, but he lost the second set to Djokovic in the final that year,
6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2. That was his first U S Open win if i'm not mistaken.

I think so too. I am expecting a similar final but with Alcaraz winning it, to what we saw at Wimbledon this year. Not the barnburner of RG.

No, i don't like the roof being closed, either. Wonder if either player will be hindered by the ball toss looking into the roof bright lights, as a result, which we know bothered young Amanda.
