Fed served well for a couple sets, returned worse than Isner, was worthless in any rally over 5 shots, and then was beyond terrible in the tiebreaks. Not exactly a good performance. If he wasn't in the easiest group imaginable I wouldn't like his chances of reaching the semis at YEC and we all know how easy it is to reach the semis at YEC.

If I remember right, Fed has reached semis in all his appearances at WTF (that would be a large number), except one.

That is correct. 2008 was the only year he didn't make it. But I don't think he's ever entered playing worse than he is now except maybe 2013. Any half-respectable play in that group and he makes the semis. 2-1 is a bad result and that makes the semis. 1-2 would be ridiculous.

Old man gets lucky break. Federer gets to play on the opening Sunday (against Samurai). This would mean he does not have to play for three days consecutively at the end (assuming he makes it to SF and F) as his last RR would be on Thursday. On the other hand, whoever makes it to SF and F from the other group will have to play for three days consecutively at the end.

Patiently waiting for some tard to say how unfair it is (the random draw) with excuses on the ready from the Djokovic camp or anyone else in the event Federer wins the title. Federer only wins cos he's lucky.

The rubber/rabbit man, incredible and when he is playing he reminds me to Reed (from Fantastic Four movie) B-) and he makes this after to practice, he spends a lot of time to be fitted for sure

I think Fed has better chance against Novak, if they meet in SF instead of in F. This is because,

a. Fed has lost several important finals against Novak and that will be in the back of mind for Fed when playing.

b. If they meet in finals, that will be on the second consecutive day of play for Fed. On the other hand, if they
meet in SF, Fed would be coming off a day of rest.

Hope, one of them messes up and does not end up leading their group and the other leads their group. That is
the only way, they can meet at SF.

This year all the matches can be seen live in USA on your computer @ESPN3 if you have subscription to ESPN on your Cable.
Some of the matches can be seen on actual TV on ESPN2. But, they are few and their selection is dependent on other competing sports. Hence, you may see some unimportant matches on TV while at the same time important matches will not be shown on TV.

But, I have no complaints as at least we can see all of them live on computer.

Thiem has no fight in him. It looks like he is just looking forward to the off-season.

The guy works hard to win matches; those exaggerated strokes like Nadal can be very taxing! By the end of the year he s/b exhausted!
He must be a clay court specialist then! And Andersson takes it in two sets.

IWe all know that Thiem is a top 8 player due to his outstanding results on clay. Unfortunately for him, his technique is not suitable on such a court. He does not know how to adapt to this surface.

By the way, Anderson is another player who peaks at 33y. What used to be the usual peak age range historically??

Anderson and Isner are debutants at this year's edition of WTF. Both are 33 years old.
