Who has a better backhand between Gasquet and Wawrinka?

I'd say Wawrinka. Gasquet's backhand is a very good shot but it's more about the aesthetics. I could watch him play all day just due to that shot.

I hate to say that "in the clutch," Stan has the better & more consistent of a classic 1-handed BH! It can be a thing of beauty when he's on!

Why would you hate to talk about the virtues of Stanley's game? :D

If it comes down to Fed-Djoker QF I'd say the only thing in Roger's favor is that Novak will not have had to face a dangerous player. But on anything that isn't very fast it figures to be tough sledding for Roger.

I didn't know birds flew in the dark. There's a bird's nest on Richie's head.

I am looking at Nole right now and no, Roger is not winning that one. A million planets have to line up for Roger to pull it off. Nole looks like he has his mojo back.

He's far from "pushing" as some claimed he was doing for a while before eliminating Rafa in the SF at Wimbledon! Nole's taking full blooded swipes thru both his FH & BH, making this routine with added sweetener of attacking the net! :yesyes:  :ptennis:

In the last 9 years Nole has beaten Roger 8 out of 9 Majors matches. Clay, Grass, HC he's beaten him in all three. Nole has beaten Roger in 5 straight HC Major matches, including 3 straight times in the USO..

Again on Clay, Grass, HC he's beaten Federer in all three. No *safe* surface for Federer.

To equate how some interpret those stats, Nole holds Roger's balls in his hip pocket. When Nole travels in flights, they're probably in his man bag.

That BH stole 3 majors from Nole! He'd be just that many majors closer to Fedal! Stan and Andy have been Nole's real spoilers!

Zero business losing at 5 majors to those guys. That's why I laugh when some Nole nuts bring up tough competition especially when Djoker's main threat for 4 or so years has been a gramps with 4 kids.

Actually 8 out of 11, and it sure has helped to have the garbage they pass off as grass at Wimbledon right? Given the age difference, especially starting in 2011, Novak should win 90+% of the time vs Roger.

He's playing way better than Wimbledon. He was 70% Nole there, 80% if very generous. He is looking more and more "back"

Rafa has played Bailashville only once (it was at RG'17) and the scoreline was 6-0, 6-1, 6-0. So, there is not much hope for tomorrow. Let us hope that Anderson/Thiem will man up in QF.

Haha. Your enthusiasm is hilarious. Domi couldn't beat Nadal at RG (Domi's best surface), how do you expect him to fair in a HC slam (his worst surface)? KA would have more of a chance, but even then it's a small one.

I agree, KA has better chances than Thiem. The stupid about KA is that he has such a powerful serve and Ralph stands 2 miles behind the baseline to return it and yet KA would not come up and finish the deal. If KA learns to move forward to the net, he will move forward in life especially against returners like Rafa who stand miles behind baseline.

Thiem won't beat Anderson anyways, but yes even on a bad knee the peasant will grind his way to the semis without a problem.

I like Da Minor Aussie. Good baseline game. Needs to improve serve a bit and he'll be in top 15.
