It’s the usual contradictory premise; all the ATP opponents of Federer suck and are cupcakes, mentally fragile, unworthy, weak, etc. *IF*they beat Federer it’s because it is a rancid rotting corpse version of his former greatness; which means Rafa and Nole have played a zombie copy of Federer quite a few times.

So If player ABC wins a tournament or even a match it’s to be minimized/discounted because, well, it wasn’t Federer that won and they all had worthless opponents. Plus anybody else winning proves what a *weak* state men’s tennis is actually in.

Yet we are at the same time suppose to be impressed and awed when Federer does win a tournament and beats ATP opponents who are cupcakes, unworthy, weak, etc. etc.

Wash, Rinse and Repeat.

They are not interested in matches as matches, simply as a coronation event for their fave.

Millman ranked 55 vs. Kukushkin ranked 84, underway.
The Aussie never reached second week in a slam, Kukushkin did it once 6 years ago reaching R4 at the AO .
I think Millman has a great opportunity here.

Anderson is now considered easy? Does he have to beat Federer in another slam so that you guys finally learn?
They are very worry because Federer has a very “dangerous” opponent named Kyrgios “the greatest”, you know how many MS and GS has won.....:D

I’m hoping Kyrgios shows up brainless because if he takes this match seriously, Fed will be flying home tonight. If I were betting, I’d pick Kyrgios.

This Madison Keys match is going to keep the Fed waiting.

It could be. Remember Keeber is still in the draw and is the current Wimbledon champion. And she is playing against Cibulkiva. They are sending the wrong message. One can dope and still find themselves on Ashe. For years they have been imposing Sharapova on the people.
I don't disagree with that, but that's the USO for you. MS has big endorsement deals and is very high profile. They did the same thing last year and I remember Wozniacki was very vocal about how much playing time Pova was getting on Ashe.

And the mighty Fed was injured when he lost to him at Wimbledon 2016 and it still took Raonic 5 sets. Just saying.
You are coming up with the injury excuse which you despise when Rafa fans do? Seriously?

Kyrgios shouldn't even be there. Without that (illegal) pep talk from the chair umpire, Nick would have folded in an easy three against Herbert.

by that logic Federer has the greatest serve of all time. It must put the serves of Ivanisevic, Sampras, Isner and Karlovic to shame. In fact they all must have average WTA serves.... or (B) that's just a dumb comment. I'll go with (B)

Serve only? I am not sure if you watch tennis regularly. Federer is the best shot maker ever in the game. He relies on his tennis skills to win matches.

Fred's ground game is not even top 50 right now. Has he won a single 2nd serve point in 6 games ?

Kyrgios is a 23 y old acting like 13.
What he needs is a mentor and that role was taken by the umpire in his last match.

He could spare us agony by being eliminated this round. He looks really bad.
