Murray's right there with his 3 major wins going through Nole as well; does that elevate him as well to GOAT status? The reason I give Djokovic a break is due to his near perfect record for some years and the competition of Fedal looming from the beginning of his career! So what, Nole snapped and allowed 6 majors to slip thru his fingers with Andy & Stan, but I also take in consideration as 3rd banana to Fedal, he's had a lot to deal with and still took over their rivalries! He's had other so called rivalries where he has significant ownership over Cilic, Berdych, and Del PO, but he's had some heart-wrenching losses to each; it happens! I'll take his record over Stan who's a handful no doubt about it, but Nole doesn't become a Jekyll/Hyde character where he'll win a major, then go to a 250 or 500 tournament and lose to a qualifier in the 1st round! Nole's now acquired 13 majors, has set records NONE of these clowns will ever achieve, so I'll concentrate on the positives for the time being! Taking another major at Wimbledon and completing his Golden Masters at Cincy this season was totally unexpected and you can't drag me down! I'm hopeful about his future success and keeping up with Fedal! :p
I agree with you that Djokovic has dominated both Federer and Nadal the last few years because he has the game to beat them, and I am not sure if there is any other player who can do that consistently. That is the beauty of tennis! You have someone that can wipe the floor with Fedal, but struggles against Wawrinka at major tournaments.

Granted I’m not playing in it, but if you hydrate properly you should be good.

I don't know about that KS. Most people just can't handle playing in that kind of heat for 2-3 hours or more.

Five minutes ago we're getting an "uh oh" due to Nole dropping a set and down a break! "Relax people, he's found his form and he's running Fucsovics to death who's just had a visit from several people; coaches and doctor?" How many times do Nole and Rafa drop sets to no names? Sheeshhh! :nono:  :banghead: :cuckoo:

Then I guess it comes down to your training and conditioning. If you know it’s hot, all the more reason to take care of business in straights and not let a scrub hang around

I didn't think he'd lose or anything but I was surprised he was somehow struggling against Fucs.

A top player relaxes or doesn't take the opponent seriously; it happens all the time! All we have to do is look at Cincy; both Federer & Djokovic were dropping sets along the way! :nono:  :banghead: :help:

That was Cincy, and Novak didn't play anyone as bad as Fucs in that event. Anyways it is a moot point, he will be off the court in 4. Nothing to fuss about.

Just surfed by and caught MP of Sascha's match over a LL! I heard Ivan invoked as his coach and thought "Ljubičić left Federer?" I had no idea Lendl had decided to come back to the coaching ranks! Good for Sascha because Lendl wouldn't be wasting his time! If he can pull a Murray, people will be knocking his door down! :p  :ptennis:

Yes good move by Sascha. We will see if he now quickly becomes relevant at majors.

I was wondering if Ljubicic is still with Federer.

It’s the third time in a row that Nole dropped a set to a genetically Serbian opponent, twice in Cincinnati and now again. Good thing that Troicki lost to Sandgren, so Nole will have an opportunity to enjoy straight set win against Tennys.

It’s also good they didn’t let Roger play in 37 degrees Celsius too, so he won’t lose too much energy in pleasant evening temperature. That practice worked for him in Melbourne. I read the temperature will drop to mid twenties from day after tomorrow. They will have rain though.

The humidity's still stifling and it'll be worse with rain if that happens! NY's one of those places I wouldn't want to play! I had enough of that in Chicago! When I lived out in California, it was even hotter, but the humidity was non-existent and it didn't zap my strength and I often played for hours even in my early 40's! :p   :ptennis:

They have two roofed stadiums, I would imagine if they have sustained rain the luxury of only 2 day matches at Arthur Ashe as the schedule now stands flys out the door. Hopefully they can get thru most of the second round round intact, from third round on it's easier to imagine a whole slew of matches being handled by the covered stadiums.
