Feli Lopez. I know...not a remotely difficult match for Fed normally but the one from last night...

Possibly Feli Lopez...that's assuming he beats Kuznetzov and then doesn't lose his 2nd round match to either the winner of Pospisil\Verdasco. Lopez hasn't exactly been the model of consistency himself this year. Some experts were picking him for a deep run at Wimbledon based on his Queen's win...and then he promptly lost, sorry, retired, in the first round.

Lol are you serious. why bring it up? He said it was strange. Same as I can say it is strange that Nadals biceps have shrunk over the years.
What's your point? I also can say that there are more strange things about your fav, but.....

Well Lopez is up 2 sets so he probably is winning this. Verdasco already is through after popsicle retired after the first set.

Definitely wouldn't be much of an upset if Verdasco beats Feli but I think the latter will pull it out.

It would be good for Roger to play a lefty anyways before you know who ...either will do .

FELI/Fernado were former running buddies, I bet they had some wild stories about some of the babes they have conquered..

Fognini out to fellow countryman and qualifier Travaglia. Never heard of him.

After leading 40-love on his serve, Zverev lost his service game and the 2nd set.

To me Zverev's forehand is a little bit "weird" because he does not loop it but at the same time he does not hit as flat as it should be. He needs to be more consistent on that side if he wants to make a deep run in a Slam.

Coric is giving a good fight to Zverev, we'll see who will win.....
Tsonga-Shapo is going to very interesting IF the French plays better but it's clear this year is far to be his best

Sasha down 2 sets to 1 and doesn't look to have the fight to make a go of this. We'll soon find out in the 4th.

Who would have thought that Kyrgios wouldn't make it through to face Federer.

I did. But, damn, I had him losing in the second round, not in the first. The other time it was the other way around, I had him losing in the first and he lost in the second. :p

But I don't pick him to lose early every time. In Cincy I guess I had him going to the quarters or semis.

Honestly (just a general comment, not a reply to your post), this narrative that Kyrgios loses because he does not feels like playing other guys (I mean, other than big 3) is beyond absurd IMO.

Kyrgios is a clown, he is a good player but far to be a A player. He is a "flower of one day" when the others players have not a good day. Today he lost and then it was because his shoulder......he should dedicate to play in the theater where probably could do better job than in a court

I have said before that the distractions might get Sasha. And Coric is no easy 2nd round.

Great scalp for Borna Coric, but I'm sorry to see Zverev go out so early. (I have tickets for Sunday, and was hoping to see him play.)

Unbelievable. I still think Zverev will be great but you can't ignore the fact he's never done anything at a slam. I think next year he changes that but I figured he'd do well at Wimbledon and the USO too. We know from recent history there are no guarantees that the talented youngsters ever become truly great.

Whoa! Coric just took out Sascha Zverev. And Sascha needs to be a bit more gracious in defeat. That lame handshake at the net was pretty telling. He thought he was way better than the other guys in his age group and now he's lost back-to-back matches to guys his own age. Cilic's adductor injury is getting better by the second...and so is Roger's back...

I said from the beginning, Zverev is unproven in Slams. Still unproven for now.

He played really well - and definitely shown more fight and game than I've seen the few times I've watched him in the past. He's a guy many thought would be Top 20 by now and some people were starting to wonder if he'd ever make a big move in a Slam. Now is his chance.

I was going to post this earlier, or on a Zverev fan thread, though I'm not sure we have one yet: Read this from the NYTimes the other day, and tell me if he wasn't surrounded by distraction. I never thought he'd make the final, given everything, though I didn't think you'd see the pressure wear this quick. Still, he's ahead of what they project for him and I think he'll settle in.
