Obviously, Serena is the only one with half-a-shot for what seems like the foreseeable future. I know tennis hasn't been back in the Olympics for a long time, but I always find it rather strange and funny that there are only 3 players, men or women, with a Golden Slam, and 2 of them are married to each other.

Nah, Steffi is the only one with a golden slam. I don't count the others - they weren't in the one year.

Agreed that Serena is the only one who could possibly do it.

I think Serena has blown her chance to win the golden slam tbh. In 2016 she will be 34-35.

Agree Ozza. Last year was her chance and she was injured in AUS and muffed RG. Vika and others will close the gap as she ages. I can't see her winning 4 slams and the Gold when she's 34.

If you're limiting it to Calendar, i.e. actual Grand Slam, and Olympic Gold in one year, Serena won't do it, and it may never be done again. Too many stars have to align, most especially that it happen for a player in an Olympic year.

Mox. You didn't include Nadal in your career golden slam count?

Serena has the golden slam in both singles and doubles. It might not be a calendar year golden slam, but she has it. I will count it even if others do not.

I do too. And if She wins in 2016 it will be a double Golden Slam
