You mean Ebony Smooth is the No 1 seed ?

How many points is it worth?

And will it make a difference if she wins?

280 points.

She will qualify for Sofia if she wins. There's an outside chance she can get herself in the #1 alt spot for Istanbul too (which will come relevant if somebody withdraws), she would need to win Luxembourg as well though.

There goes another 280 points off of Vihka's total.

That's almost 1300 points in 2 weeks.

I don't think she cares tbh. She's miles behind Serena, and she's guaranteed to end the season number 2. There's nothing to fight for from a ranking perspective. Chasing rankings is a waste of time in the bigger scheme of things.

Top 10 player at the Generali Ladies Linz @AngeliqueKerber got a wildcard for Linz #wtalinz #wta

I don't get this. The draw is already done, how can you get a wildcard after the draw?

Besides Kerber has already played 2 internationals this year. Top 10 players are only allowed to play 2 internationals.

I am currently investigating.

Ozza,

Could the loophole be that they didn't have a top 10 player already in the draw since Petra pulled out?

The loophole was that Kerber wanted to enter Carlsbad, but they already had 4 top 10 players so she was entered into Washington instead and it says in the WTA rulebook that if you can't play the premier event you want to, and are instead forced into an international event, that it doesn't then count towards player commitment.

They are twins but as to which one is better, that's toughie!
For a while Kristyna made the main draws and Karolina had to play qualies but it changed here in Linz!

Who is better ozza?

Karolina right now. Karolina won the international event in Kuala Lumpur this year.

Long term it's tough to judge. They both have the same strengths (serve) and the same weakness (movement). Their serves are huge, but their movement is some of the worst on tour.

Kristyna might have an advantage long term from being left handed and the benefits that provides, especially when combined with a big serve.

They have actually played each other a few times, if not mistaken a total of 8 times, when I was in Eastbourne, they played each other in a qualifying round. Karolina had a 4-3 lead up to that match, I have to be honest I do not remember which sister won that qualie!!
