Makarova has had great results in this event, winning in 2010 as a qualifier, only once failing to make the q/finals in six appearances.

Back on track again Caroline 75 64 against a tough oponent as Stosur - great. After a little rusty start she fought back in her usual grinding fashion and played better and better and more and more confident. Aces, winners, forehand, backhand and netplay in ok form - welcome back Caroline you look fitter than ever :clap:heart:

^ Great numbers for Caroline, especially first serve percentage, only one double fault, winners/errors ratio, and net points. :clap

Another match I am interested in is Safarova v Kvitova.I am hoping that Kvitova has a decent grass season, she has the game.

By now, Lucie should be sick and tired of losing to Petra, I know I am.
I hope Lucie knocks her out!

Okay guys and gals a quick summary of yesterday's matches before heading down to Eastbourne shortly for day two. Lauren Davis looked really out of sorts against in the first set against Karolina, but found a way back for a fine victory. At centre court one of my fellow photo friends from Eastbourne, felt Aga was going to have a tough time with Pavs as I did too. She played some great tennis and deserved to knock out the number one seed. She matched Aga with strong ground strokes and her serving was very decent too. All in all a thrilling match to watch at centre court. Elena Vesnina after a bit of a slow start cruised to an easy win and I could here her Russian "da" yes of course being used extensively in the match. I have some great shots of all these players. Watched Angelique and Alison's match too, and it was also a hard fought win for the German on court one. I had to leave early on Monday as I head a West End Play to go to with two cousins, 80 minute trip back to London, but will be there today for a full day. Will setup and interview with Elena Vesnina again, I had to cancel due to the fact she was playing dubs late in the day. Weather will be super today in the low 70's and sunny. Whoops also got some great pics of Belinda too, she is very "hot"!!!

Also saw and heard Schiavone screaming to the top of her lungs too, to the annoyance of many of the spectators, could even hear her when I was at centre court, and she was playing on court two!!

Big kudos Ruby. Great report. Just tuned into watch Vika. She takes the opener 6-4, but a few DF's from both players. Camila is giving her tough time as we all suspected. In fact she goes up an early break in the 2nd 2-0

And that quickly turns into 4-0
Camila's style of play is always super aggressive, but can she fire at will and be accurate?

Actually got it to 5-0 before Vika ultimately held and then broke. Camila finally closes out the set 6-3. We're heading for the decider.
