Federer: A ballet dancer on the wrong court.
Pete: The grass at Wimbledon during 1993-2000 should have been taller to offer a level-playing field to the 127 other players for the sake of hiding their show.
Nadal: The most violent bull in the world is the one without thorns.
Nalbandian: The backhand that explains the sad face of Monalisa.

I like that, buddy!

Federer: glides to backhand with despair!
Rafa: aesthetics in a jumbled bunch of power!
Novak: light-switch tennis - sometimes switched off.
Murray: grumpy old man in a young mans shirt
Daveed: forget the score, play the game!

Fixed that for you since his backhand is top notch against most of the field and even against Rafa on low bouncing surfaces. Rewatch the set point in Cincy 2013 for a top BH winner :p Or Indian Wells 2012 or WTF 2011. No loopy topspin to his backhand and he's an offensive winner hitting machine when he's on.

If this is gliding with despair I'm a monkey's uncle :p

His backhand is all around garbage now no doubt and other parts of his game are as well. But before that it was only truly weak vs. Rafa's topsin.

Nah. Despite his overall crap year take a look at some of these backhands. Some total gems. He's only had issues with Rafa's loopy topspin on high bouncing courts but against anyone else and indeed against Rafa on lower bouncing surfaces you can expect shots like some of these and the Cincy set point above.

The only thing I take issue with is you're using present tense. If you were using past tense I'd agree. This year though, his backhand has been awful against everyone, in pretty much every tournament.

That's true and many of those highlights were from matches he went on to lose but there were still some gem shots even this year at age 32 and playing like pure crap most of the time. Consistency has gone right down the toilet alright. Agreed. Over his career though his backhand has not been a liability except to Nadal's topspin on high bouncing courts. To put Nadal's clay wins over him at RG in perspective, it's worked in his favour to have been in so many finals against a guy with a single handed backhand.

Come on lads, one-liners? Got any? ;)

I'm gonna run a poll some day, "which topic makes Fedfans most jumpy:

1. Weak Era
2. One handed backhand
3. "2009"
4. H2H
5. Village People outfits at Wimbledon

:Lolz:

Equally so one could make something along the lines of say , how about:

1. The stench of ass contributing to wins
2. The stench of todger (not Roger). And of course the embarrassment of having to use said hand to shake hands at the net with the winner or loser. Pretty damn uncool for a top player.
3. "2011"
4. Only lose when injured.
5. Self centred: 2 year ranking, less hardcourts, schedule is too long (but hey, let's play all these exos while still containing to moan). Did I mention moaning? The ATP won't let me win the WTF as it's always an indoor event. Zzzzz.
6. Always pointing to the H2H when a large proportion of it is during a time when said rival is well past his best and a mere shadow of his former self.

That's only 6 but I could probably write a thesaurus:p
