The Women's doubles event kicked off yesterday. The #2 seeds Lucie and BMS got kicked out already in the very first round.

Here are some interesting pairs

2. Santina (#1 seed)
3. Hlaveckova & Hradecka, the Czech duo
4. Makarova & Vesnins, the Russian duo
5. Kristina Malendovic & Caroline Garcia, the French duo
6. T. Babos & Shvedova (the #4 seed)

Williams Sisters are out, but it is their best result in doubles in a while. I hope they have enough in the tank tomorrow for their matches.

The finals is set. It is between Kristina Melendovic & Caroline Garcia vs. Vesnina & Makarova.

Hope the frenchies win.

I won't be watching this though.

One thing that did not get much publicity was the fact that Martina Hingis and Sani Mirza were going for a 4th slam in a row at this RG. Unfortunately, while Nole Slam happened, Santina Slam did not materialize. :cry That too, they lost to a couple of unknown Ovas from Czech and that too in straight sets.
