this is a fantastic match , Bartoli has a unique style and Sabine can hit the ball hard . A different match compared to the other matches we see in slam finals

Bartoli plays two handed both ways.
H2H is 3-1 in favor of Sabine, she has won the last three matches.
No H2H since 2011

Bartoli not only plays with both hands both ways, she drinks her bottle of water that way too!

Tough call maid Maid Marion has been to this stage before and Sabine has not. I am going to go with Maid Marion. I think nerves will get to Sabine more than Marion in this match.

Sabine the Giant Slayer!

Stosur, Serena and now the last top seed.
Me thinks getting past Bartoli be a breeze.

I'm not so sure. Lisicki showed her heart, but also her nerves today. Bartoli was in the zone today. I expect a battle.

After stopping the streaking Serena train cold, Lisicki should be able to win over her nerves and Bartoli
to win over an exhausted Serena:snigger..this looks more like a Stosur win in 2011:rolleyes:

Bartoli is on a mission, and playing aggressive, focussed tennis. She also has the experience of having been in this final before, but doesn't want to walk away empty handed again. Bartoli in two.

Bartoli knows its her best chance and has been in a final before, she has to play like when she beat Justine..
it seems the crowd at Wimbledon has not warmed up to Bartoli...just like her crazy antics:clap

She is unusual, let's say, but I find her endearing in an odd way. I don't think the crowd is against her, but they haven't exactly gotten behind her either, as you say.

It should be a very good match. They both have a lot to play for, and they both must know this is literally the chance of a lifetime with all of the top seeds out. Mary Jo Fernandez (or maybe Pam Shriver?) talked about seeing Bartoli looking at the draw after Serena lost, and recognizing the opportunity. I think she'll take advantage of it.

I really like Bartoli with all her quirks, she reminds me of a girl that is always ignored by the It girls at school.I hope she rises to the occasion by playing lights out tennis that she played against Serena in 2011...

Well the Maid has had the slight advantage of being in a Wimbledon final before in 2007
Still both player's will be nervous. This is a final after all.
Impressed with the way the Maid dismantled Flipkens today.Though can she do the same against Sabine?
I dont think soo. After Serena went out I tipped Sabine to win.I am not changing my thoughts now
I was impressed with Sabine in her s/final match against Aga.It reminded me in ways of her match against Serena.
Sabine to win in 3 sets.

Well put. That makes me like her even more.

Me, too! It would be very exciting for her to take home the trophy, after Venus beat her in '07. There was no stopping Venus back then, though. There really wasn't anything Bartoli could do against such an inspired, focussed Venus. (I remember Richard consoling Marion's father during the trophy ceremony. That was one of the greatest demonstrations of sportsmanship and empathy I've ever seen between players' families. I'll always respect Richard for that.)

It's too true! She's like the girl from the A/V club, with her big IQ, asked to hold her own against the cheerleading squad. Allez, Marion!

Nice anecdote, tented.

I predict Lisicki will win the trophy. If this happens, I will be sad for Bartoli. She will not get another chance, given her age and game.

Hilarious picture and comment!

One thing I know for sure is that Bartoli will not be affected by the moment. The only thing she cares or thinks about it seems is her dad and hitting a tennisball. I hope Lisicki is not dreaming too much and can play her best game, otherwise it's mad maid Marion.

Wouldn't put Stosur in that group, almost anyone beats her on grass, :)

Agreed, However, I wouldn't be surprised if Bartoli have some tricks up her sleeve because she is also deserving.
