I so hope Keys wins. I'm not sure if she really has the mental game to become a top player. I kind of see her having a career like Mattek-Sands. Always lurking, always dangerous, perennial top 20 or top 30 player but nary a big consistent breakthrough.

I see Genie winning in two. Cornet has these moments but usually can't back them up.

I kind of hope Ana beats Lisicki. I would really like to see her build up some confidence from how she's performed this year and translate it at a slam. I do love Lisicki. I was just so disappointed by her inconsistency post-Wimbledon. It was the first time in AGES she had been healthy for a full year but she couldn't put it together.

Sharapova will beat Kerber unfortunately. Kerber isn't the player she was a year and a half ago.

Poor Smitkova is crying and drinking, crying and drinking sitting on the bench at 2-5 down  :)
First grand slam, from the Qualifiers into R4.

Lucie just won. Her First QF in grand slam in 7 years :)

Caro must be more aggressive and dictate if she wants to win. Too passive.

few minutes later, she starts hitting harder with more aggression and she breaks. She read my post and executed. On serve 2-3 down 2nd set.

3-3 now. few minutes ago she was toast and looked to go out quickly.

.........

5-5 now, Caro saved 2 MP :D She cant win with a passive style. must hit hard and attack. Thats her problem, not attacking. Its a mental thing.

Madison Keys pulled out due to injury.
Caro lost in straights, just too many errors, Barbara killed her with those drop shots, won the match via one.
Centre court and court 1 started play.

Well not Caro's day. Too little, too late. Come again in Turkey. I think I'll have a beer anyway. May your babes be luckier :wave

Honestly, I dont want to brag about my player, but to just say that she needs to change her style.
She needs to think about doing what Simona did and start playing aggressive tennis.
The passive way she is playing now will not work. She just let Barbara dictate the whole match. She attacked only at 1-3 2nd set because the result was bad.
She must attack the whole match and take risks. She needs a coach to bring back her fire. She is lost now :(

After a plethora of errors and uneven play Genie finally takes the opening set in a breaker 7-5

Her backhand went AWOL for a long stretch, came back just in time to help her win the set. Her body position is wrong when she is hitting the backhand. She needs to correct that.
That and Cornet's wacky shots are throwing her a bit. She's got to adjust and anticipate the dropshot and she should get through this in straights. Taking a safer cut at the Cornet weak 2nd serve would help as well.

MP for Genie and she only needs one. Great fight through a tough match where she didn't play her best 7-6(5) 7-5. 3rd straight QF appearance this year at the slams.

Sabine should be told that she is TBA tomorrow. Thats because Simona will be TBA for sure for some weird reason that only the organizers know about... ;)
Because they will make Simona TBA, they must also make Sabine TBA in the name of fairness in the R4 schedule.
Thats how logic works :D :snigger

In short, no chance they will finish their R4 matches tomorrwo beacsue of the rain or something  :D

At least those weird organizers are closing the roof on time this year. Last year they wanted to keep it "real and wet" with an opened roof :D

Wait a second, if they started to close the roof they betrayed their tradition. Why cant they do the same about playing on Sunday when there are delayed matches?... so weird.

Those organizers actually finished the chances of FOUR PLAYERS of reaching the final on Saturday.
The next four players have no chance of getting to the final: Lisicki, Shvedova, Diaz, Halep.

They cant win THREE grass court matches in 3 days. Its too much to ask at this stage of the competition.
tradition to do wrong...
