This should be good.
Dominika Cibulkova (SVK) (10) v Lucie Safarova (CZE) (23)

There is also Venus vs. Petra on centre court.
I am giving the advantage to Petra and my heart to Venus, I hope the elder Champion comes through.
H2H is 3-1 in favor of Petra.

I really want Venus to beat Kvitova, but the H2H is disturbing.

Play will be back not before 4 pm local, heavy showers before that.

report:
After a promising start, showers will develop quickly and become heavy and thundery by midday, giving some torrential downpours. It will improve during the afternoon with some sunshine but with further showers north of London.

The schedule will be massacred today. Simo plays first for a change :)
I am sure she likes that, no one likes to be dragged around.

Yes, Petra should be the favorite.......But

If Venus has the illness under control, she can

beat anyone at anytime.

reading that interview she gave in ESPN body

magazine how well she plays depends on how well

she manages the illness. IMO if she can keep it to 2 sets

She can win. If it goes to 3 sets........?

2-3 down and Simo looks half asleep as if she got to the court by accident
If she doesnt wake up it can end up in tears.

update:
Simo takes 1st set 6-3 but I am not happy. Tzurenku surprised her too many times with heavy hitting and good angles.
She still looks half asleep

Simona lost the 2nd set 6-4. Tzurenko heavy hitting bothers her. She doesnt click with the balls. Must step it up or will go home. She doesnt control the points as she is used to because of the way Tzurenko is hitting the ball. Tzurenko is hitting heavy balls, not flat fast balls.

Simo is ahead in the decider 4-1, this should be over soon.
Caro was the first to advance today. Li Na just started.

hoergren... You must be pleased with Caroline. She seems to be rediscovering her mojo a bit since the Rory split.

Bad match by Simona today :( She was caught off guard, had many problems in her match and made a lot of UEs.
I think it was a good thing in the big picture!
It brought up her fighting spirit and will stop her from trying to do walkabouts in the next round. She will remember how tough this round was and will be ready for the next match.
She can do the impossible :)

To do the impossible she must stop respecting the legends of the match Serena,Viika, Maria and start treating them as if they are Tzurenko, and "just fight" like she did today.

P.S. Simona has now the highest ranking points she ever had in her career. 6135 points :)

Some interesting ranking updates:

caro goes up to 15.
sloane down to 20.
Venus from 31 to 25 :)
Venus will be ranked at least 26 after Wimby, even if she loses today.

Li Na is in a bit of trouble, losing the first set in a tie breaker and is now fighting for the second set.

I've watched some of it. I heard the announcers say Zahlavova Strycova hasn't lost a tiebreak all year. Impressive. Nevertheless, I'm hoping Li Na pulls through.

I totally pulling for Caroline to have a nice run here. Like one the commentators stated, a lot of folks are pulling for her in light of her recent personal issue. I count myself as one those folks.

Second set tiebreak. We'll see if the Czech can be up her perfect record in tiebreaks in 2014.

Horrible call on match point...just horrible. Li DFs anyways...game over.

Zahlavova Strycova still unbeaten in a tiebreak this year. Huge win for her, huge upset for the tournament.

Caro takes a breath of relief too, she plays Barbara instead of Na.

Caro has never lost to Barbara, 3-0 is the total count.
