Tough matches for Petra and Vika. Mona made a splash somewhere a few year ago, right? I can't remember. Bojana was hyped a few years ago when she came up from juniors. It hasn't produced much.

I could see one of these two being an upset.

Venus is absolutely crushing the ball today. Several aces and winners, 7-6 6-1

Still not convinced whether she can make it to the
later rounds, even though she played well. Definitely looks to me she's lost a little sting on her shots.

She lost not just a little sting but a lot of sting because of her illness. Could have easily been top 5 if she was healthy.

Agree. Petra will be a tough ask even though Venus is the better grass courter. Petra always steps up her game for Venus.

And Vika falls. Great play from Jovanovski! Sad to see Vika go. But, she's been gone for 4 or 5 months basically. It happens. She'll be back. And this way we get to see an young gun go to the third round where neither her possible opponents are particularly formidable, though Coco has been doing well on the grass this year. But unless Jovanovski can keep up this strong play it will probably be Cibulkova or Safarova who go to the quarters.

Was away for hours and glad Zvonareva won. Hope she keeps it up. Was looking dodgy there last night.

Watching some of the doubs. The Williams look old and slow. Their opponents are a better doubles team. They take the opening set 7-5. We'll see how invested Serena & Venus are about getting this to a 3rd set.

A very secure win for Caroline Wozniacki today 63 62 over Naomi Broady - expected but her stats are impressive. 1st serve for the match 86%. Congrats Caroline you deserve it.

Quite invested I would say, they took the second set 6-1

There are a few interesting matches being played as I write this, Martina/Vera too.

Oh my. Serena just ended up in someone's lap. He looks to be OK though. :snigger

Good to see them fighting for this 3rd set. They were down a break and have rallied to get it on serve. Still not playing up to their potential, but fighting nonetheless.
