Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova's attacker jailed for eight years over stabbing

A man who attacked Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova in her home, stabbing her twice, has been jailed for eight years.

Radim Zondra was convicted of serious bodily harm after the attack in Kvitova's Czech Republic flat in December 2016.

The tennis player needed surgery on her hand and took more than five months to recover.

The state prosecutor requested 12 years in prison for Zondra, who pleaded not guilty. He can appeal his eight year sentence.

Kvitova, who reached the Australian Open final in January, is ranked a career-high No. 2.

Is that all? I don't think that's proper justice. I don't think he should have the right to appeal.

There were rumors at that time that the attacker is neither a random person nor after Kvitová's money. According to the rumors, Petra had some sort of relationship with the attacker. Of course, I don't know whether there is any truth to it.
