Hey all,
I don't follow the WTA nearly as much as ATP, but do follow it a bit (I was especially impressed with Bouchard's play at Roland Garros). Anyhow, a question has been circling in the back of my mind which I'm guessing has been asked before, but not by me: Will Agnieszka Radwanska ever win a Slam? She reminds me a bit of David Ferrer - a great defensive player but not enough weapons to beat the top players.

I suppose that given the nature of women's tennis - more breaks, in particular - anything is possible. I for one hope she does, but it seems that a lot of other players would have to fall--especially Serena, Azarenka and Sharapova--for her to have a chance. I'm curious about what people think.

I like Aga a lot but its unlikely that she will win a slam. BUT!... saying that just made it possible! You never know in WTA where the gods of jinx are mighty. If Marion can Aga can. In short, I said nothing in 2 long lines.

No.Aga has had her chances in the past when draws have opened up for her and she hasnt been able to take advantage of them, more recently in the AO.I have always said she needs a decent serve, her second serve is poor and very attackable.,also she hasnt got a serious weapon that can hurt the top players.

It's great to see you in the WTA forum, Dude. What a nice surprise.

As to your question, I agree with fashionista. As talented as Radwanska is, her serve, in particular, isn't going to do it. But I'd love if she worked on it, and got to the point where she could beat the top players and win majors, because she's one of my favorites. Immensely talented, and the consummate shot-maker -- what's not to like?

I think Aga can, but she has really blown some good chances namely Wimbledon 2013 and Australian Open 2014. I mean it isn't often that you get no Maria, no Serena, and no Azarenka(well in AO 14 case she finally scored that win again against Azarenka after a long drought) to contend with, and if she can't take advantage of those situations, well then she probably won't. Those moments were practically calling out for her to take advantage and claim a slam.

No. While I like her game a lot, the weak serve is just one component. Her biggest obstacle is she doesn't believe. If Sharapova can win a slam w/ 12 DF's and 50+ UE's than why not Aga who hardly makes any errors. It's belief. Maria has it in spades and Aga doesn't, period.

Aga's last title was in Korea late last year, a 280 pointer is nothing to write home about, at least in her position.
That being said, here is what I think.
This year and last, she has been taped up in just about every event. She is one of those players that doesn't play the trumpet when she is injured, rather, she continues to play, example, Rafa AO 2014.
I believe she has a good serve when her shoulder allows it, it may not be the most over-powering weapon out there but it's well placed and lots of times when it clicks, it does the job.
I also believe she is one that will improve as time goes, she will get better, which is scary...

Time is on her side! She is only 25
