It is only 2,255 points difference in the race and No1e is defending pretty much everything between now and the clay season. In addition to that, he also announced his priorities are shifting from winning tournaments and being a number 1 to something he didn't defined, many people think his son.

So, you'd think Murray will overtake him inevitably. When do you think it will happen?

1. By the end of the year
2. Right after AO
3. After IW/Miami
4. Never, it's Murray

Murray would probably need the YEC and the AO to stand a realistic chance of taking it early next year... I don't think he does it barring a Novak injury.

The fourth option, in the absence of something longer than never.

No love for Murray's chances, @mrzz? Mastoor has just told us that Novak is reordering his priorities. I'm not sure how you decide to focus on #1 without winning tournaments, given what he's defending, but if injury and ennui continue to collide for Djokovic, Murray might just get his moment.

If No1e really shifts his priorities from playing tennis the way he is known for to something else, then I think Murray is in chance. That's because most who can beat him are either injured like Federer or in habit to fall out early most time like Rafa, Delpo, Stan, Raonic, Tsonga, ...

I honestly hope No1e made a joke with priorities, because he said he will shift priority to enjoying tennis while all he said about it in the past is that the biggest joy in tennis is winning.

I'm not sure anyone's taking him seriously now. He's deflecting pressure. All #1's do it. ;)
