He can't seem to hit any winners off it, no court penetration or heaviness and when he tries to pull the trigger , he often its it out. I can't understand why he can't fix it, it's supposed to be his best shot. I haven't seen any signs of the FH since pretty much.....Shanghai 2017?

I thought the problem was in IW and Miami because the courts there are quite gritty and tough to hit through but it seems the same even in grass.

He's old and can't move as well. It still has its moments but sometimes it's pedestrian.

But movement doesn't account for the sheer lack of court penetration. Even on balls he has a lot of time on he can't hit a clean baseline winner.

Could you stop making off-topic posts? Thanks!
Can you learn to read word-play, please? Anyone who can understand word-play will be laughing at this because it's an answer but it's a funny 1. I guess you're not familiar with puns. Thank you.

It's you that's crazy. I thought you'd changed & was trying to make friends with you. I didn't realise you wouldn't understand word-play but I will gladly stop derailing your thread as someone who doesn't even understand word-play is no match for me.

I agree with Darth. His reduced speed of movement means that he arrives a shade late to the ball, which is very significant. Opponents know that and they will try to exploit those weakness if they can. He has to serve well to make up for the deficiency.

My point is that even on static forehands he can't hit I/O FH winners from the baseline anymore. He just bunts it back in the middle of the court to stay in the rally. When he tries to go for broke, he hits it long.
