Williams and Azarenka ready for catwalk
Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka, the top two tennis players in the world, will take part
in a fashion show of Thai silk ahead of their exhibition match in Hua Hin this week, organisers said yesterday.
World No.1 Williams and second-ranked Azarenka will meet in the Hua Hin World Tennis Invitation at Centennial Park in the resort town on Saturday. On Friday, they will participate in a fashion show
called 'Made in Thailand Night with Serena and Victoria' at the InterContinental Hua Hin Resort.
"It is an honour to have tennis superstars Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka to help promote Thai silk and Thailand," said Suwat Liptapanlop, president of the Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand. Williams and Azarenka will also give alms to monks, he said.
Former No.1 Azarenka will play in the event for a third straight time.
