the fantasy career continues - he just defended Quito title at 35 - oldest player to crack top 100 for first time - what an example of dedication and perseverance to tennis - they need to do a movie about Victor Estrella who is a miracle man of tennis - a real life Rocky Balboa - even the win vs Bellucci in the Final of Quito was incredible - he looked dead down a set and struggling on serve and to break Bellucci then suddenly won the second set tiebreak and crushed the Brazilian in the third set - more magic by Estrella - this guy is more impressive in so me ways than Fed Rafa and Djokovic - that he stuck to it so long and finally became an ATP champion -

Gotta love Victor... and the repeat title. He got a lot of love on these boards during the Quito campaign.

Who wouldn't love a story like his!!! Such a likeable character, from such a small country that doesn't have the big tennis tradition. I was happy for him last year when he won his first title and I had doubts if he could do it this year. He was so happy when he won it again. I really hope he can have more happy moments on tennis court.

Unbelievable result by Victor - His ranking had fallen to 156 and his career was on the line to win back points and somehow he beats Karlovic down match points and then beats Lorenzi - Estrella is one of the greatest inspirations in pro sports today - he never gave up and finally cracked the top 100 at age 33 and now he has won three ATP titles - No player will ever match these achievements -

They should rename the tournament after him.

I wish there were more stories like this - it's what sport should be about rather than the big money stories. What a great guy!

Pat Rafter's older brother was a tennis buddy with one of my tennis friends, and he said Pat had to share a room with 4 other guys and often had to borrow tennis outfits as he was dead poor. Then he won USO, and the second time he won it he donated all of the prize money to charity.....what an unbelievable generosity!!
