Sad for Venus.Though I must say this news didnt surprise me.Venus has been struggling with this back injury for sometime now.
Hopefully we will see Venus in the HC season.

It just confuses me. She should have sat out the French and played Wimbledon instead. She has been having back issues since April. I would have thought she would have preferred to make a go at Wimbledon where she has had success versus the French Open where success has been very fleeting.

That's a shame. I've always enjoyed her at Wimbledon. Her game is suited to the grass so perfectly.

I hope she gets better for the USO.

That's disappointing. Venus and Sveta are both out and narrows the field of former slam champs from 10 to 8.

Back injuries can be tricky, sometimes they linger for weeks at a time, and then you're fine for a period and think you'll be alright, and then it hits you again.
