V.E. Day

It's the 75th anniversary of V.E. Day today. To celebrate our government changed the May Day bank holiday so it would be on V.E. Day & they were going to have street parties all over the country. There was going to be 1 at work. I was going to sing, organise & conduct the 1940's singalong. Unfortunately this coronavirus came along & everyone is stuck at home with only their families who live at home. There are still people who are doing something for V.E. Day though.

In our house we've got into 1940's dress, put 1940's make-up on, we're eating 1940's food & we've been listening to 1940's music.

a french woman died on ve day age 101, who was in the french resistance,

and one of only 2 fighter pilots (the few) in battle of britain in 1940 (who was still alive) died the day before
